It’s still appearing.

HebeMumsnet · 12/07/2023 09:32

Hi again @PurpleParrotfish. Thanks for letting us know. Can we ask how regularly you're seeing it now? And have you cleared cookies? Also - you aren't using an incognito browser are you?

AnIntrovert · 12/07/2023 10:56

The consent pop up appears on EVERY single thread I open . Madness!!!

PurpleParrotfish · 13/07/2023 11:40

I’m not using an incognito browser, ordinary Safari on iPhone. No I haven’t cleared cookies. It’s coming up, ooh about 1 in every 10-15 clicks (vague guess)

Tulipdaisygirl · 14/07/2023 22:50

This is driving me insane. It’s popping up each and every time a page refreshes. Safari on iPad.

Purplestorm83 · 14/07/2023 23:23

Yep, safari on my phone and it’s driving me nuts too, opening every time I open mumsnet

Furries · 15/07/2023 02:26

Safari on iPad here. Popping up every time I come on MN, then randomly as I move through threads. It’s irritating.

As an aside and mentioned on another thread - why, over a year later, has this issue still not been resolved: new paragraphs STILL don’t start with a capital letter. It’s a small thing, but it’s blooming irritating.

Skulldrudgery · 16/07/2023 10:04

Same for me. Really annoying it’s still going on after all this time. I also ‘interacted’ with it to make it go away and didn’t work.
Not incognito. Not cleared cache/cookies because that will be annoying in other ways.
on safari /iPhone with pop ups blocked on my settings!

shivermetimbers77 · 16/07/2023 10:07

Yes also popping up every time I log on to mumsnet on my phone. Not incognito. I tried to click it to make it go away but that didn’t work.

Scrumptiousspongecake · 16/07/2023 16:27

Still there..world’s longest running pop up

UnsolicitedOpinions · 16/07/2023 22:35

Yes, still there for me too

HebeMumsnet · 17/07/2023 10:36

Morning, everyone. Just popping in to let you know that this pop-up should disappear from today. If you have any further issues, do try clearing your cookies first, but don't hesitate to give us a shout. Hopefully it shouldn't be a problem any more though. Thanks for your patience with this. Flowers

Scrumptiousspongecake · 21/07/2023 10:59

Great thank you

Katrinawaves · 28/07/2023 08:24

Oh for the love of God! This has now been replaced by a cookie consent which appears every fine the page is refreshed even when cookies have been confirmed.

@HebeMumsnet have you recently employed someone new to implement these messages? Their processes are clearly incorrect and need to be fixed before anything else is rolled out if you don’t want to make your forum completely unusable!

JoMumsnet · 28/07/2023 11:24

Hi @Katrinawaves - re the cookie consent box, can we just check that you're not using incognito or private browser mode? If so, this will always prompt a consent box, as it needs to drop a cookie that tells our browser if you've already accepted or not. Switching out of incognito mode should solve this.

(We know you said earlier on the thread that you're not using incognito mode, but that was several weeks back so we just thought we'd double check).

Katrinawaves · 28/07/2023 11:25

I’m not but the cookie consent seems to have switched itself off again thankfully!

JoMumsnet · 28/07/2023 11:28

Oh that's good, thanks for letting us know. Please post again here if it crops up again.

CarolineUK12 · 26/02/2024 19:18

Its Malware. They have been infected and apparently are clueless. I use a Mac .. go to settings and disallow them access to your computer. So annoying for day's I've been seeing these notifications. Horrible but I fixed the issue on my computer.
