When will this go away please?

OP posts:

ITA with pp, every time I open a new page, I get this stupid pop up. I don’t know what it is for; but I am not interested in it!

I tried engaging with it once, in the hope it would go away; but it didn’t!

Please give us the option to turn it off!

MavisMcMinty · 07/07/2023 10:45

Please @LilyMumsnet @YetAnotherBeckyMumsnet - can you get this fixed today? Otherwise it’ll be popping up all weekend. I can only assume it isn’t affecting any of you at MN, because you’d do something about it if it was, it is maddening.

BernardBlacksMolluscs · 07/07/2023 10:58

It’s got more persistent

a few days ago it was there every so often, now it’s EVERY FUCKING TIME I INTERACT WITH THE SITE

please, please, please make it stop

or send gin

I'm not sure many are actually using it.

Perhaps that's why MNHQ aren't fixing the problem? They want to keep pushing the feature so they're not removing the pop up box.

I’ve tried using it in the hope that it will stop but it doesn’t. It’s doing my head in now.

Morred · 07/07/2023 11:18

I'm using the feature but the reminder/advert for it pops up even when I am on the my feed page! And then every time I click through to a thread, every time I go to the next page in the thread, when I go back to 'my feed' it pops up again.

It's maddening. I have rejected all tracking, might that be having an affect? I am also getting the prompt to accept/reject tracking and ads multiple time in one session.

Seeingadistance · 07/07/2023 11:22

FFS, MN!

Stop just ignoring us! Get this stopped and in the meantime, at least have the courtesy to reply to our posts here.

MuttsNutts · 07/07/2023 11:25

Well I thought mine was fixed after I cleared my cookies but no, it’s back. Absolutely ridiculous.

I never want to use the feature (and sounds like most others don’t either) so are you really content to piss off so many people because you’re desperate to push it regardless?

Just disable it FGS while you look at it!

JoMumsnet · 07/07/2023 12:06

Hi all, thanks for bearing with us. We're sorry this pop-up has been causing problems for many of you. We've put in a fix now so this should be resolved, but please let us know if it's still cropping up.

MavisMcMinty · 07/07/2023 12:19

Still popping up, let’s see what happens when I press “post” this time…

MavisMcMinty · 07/07/2023 12:20

Yup, there it is again.

MavisMcMinty · 07/07/2023 12:20

…and again.

CurlsLDN · 07/07/2023 12:27

Still popping up for me (iPhone chrome) on every new page, and in a new twist today as I get halfway through reading a page and get to the ad the page reloads and the pop up comes back, so twice per page!

BernardBlacksMolluscs · 07/07/2023 12:52

Very much still happening

argh

BasiliskStare · 07/07/2023 13:01

I am still getting it ( apple desktop safari every time I move to a new page ) Whatever this feed thing is I would rather stab my eyes with pins than use it. ( well - that was a joke - not literally ) but there's all publicity is OK & then there is - you have annoyed me so much I will go out of my way not to do this. 😊

KatherineSiena · 07/07/2023 13:22

Still happening

12roundsofwhitelowfatspread · 07/07/2023 13:30

Still happening all the time.

PurpleParrotfish · 07/07/2023 13:34

Can you please just remove the thing altogether?

Meeting · 07/07/2023 13:35

I'm still getting it constantly. In fact I got it once when I opened this thread and then again when I skipped to the last page.

Newusernameaug · 07/07/2023 13:37

It happens to me on every single thread!
It’s the most annoying thing ever please sort it out.
using Safari, not in any private browsing mode or incognito

JoMumsnet · 07/07/2023 13:38

Thanks for your feedback - we're sorry to hear this is still causing problems for several of you. Could we please ask you to try clearing your browser cache / data to see if that resolves things?

TheSeaDoesntKnowMyName · 07/07/2023 13:40

YetAnotherBeckyMumsnet · 24/06/2023 12:39

Hello, everyone. You should only see it one time in one session on the site and will not see it after that. You also wont see it if you have visited feed before. If you're using a private/incognito browser or have cleared your cookies then you will see it in your next session.

As always, please let us know if there's any issues and we'll take a look.

its constantly popping up and is very annoying

Lizzt2007 · 07/07/2023 13:42

Safari in iPhone and it's every page for me too. I tried completing my preferences but didn't help.

How about no to that. You should be sorting it at your end.

Heh, I don’t even know what those words mean. Wouldn’t it be better if Mumsnet removed it altogether? Could the techie who designed and installed it be asked how on earth you can turn it off? And could this episode be a reminder not to install uninstallable pup-ups ever again?

Why not put the info up as a “promoted” thread at the top of each folder, in future?

As for “my feed”, I already have “my feed” - notifications from threads I’m on or watching, then scrolling through folders such as AIBU and Feminism for a thread title that catches my eye.

Sometimes things are fine as they are.

Katrinawaves · 07/07/2023 14:48

Me too. Safari on iPhone not incognito
