It's happened about 9 times today and 3 times yesterday. SO annoying !!! Please fix it

The video adverts may be contributing - they take ages to load and slow the whole page down. It puts me off whatever they are advertising to be honest.

JoMumsnet · 19/07/2022 10:16

Thanks for including the link to the thread, @Throckmorton - that's very helpful. We're still investigating this issue and will update you as soon as we can. We're sorry again that this is taking so long to resolve.

Throckmorton · 19/07/2022 17:00

Thanks. To be honest it happens with every single page I open

Getoff · 20/07/2022 16:17

Lost two posts I'd spend several minutes composing, in the last half hour.

Why does it matter how many posts we are viewing? From a functional point of view, nothing should be running/changing while I'm typing into a text box, other than the contents of the textbox itself.

I see adverts do change constantly, so I assume it's an advert crashing the page.

Hi

It's really helpful our end because we think this has an impact on the crashing. Can you let us know how many?

Throckmorton · 04/08/2022 18:33

@LilyMumsnet - the site is unusable I'm afraid; can you message me when the issue is fixed and I'll come back to mumsnet, but for now I'm stopping using it as I can't read anything without it crashing. Thanks.

Your plane is ready for departure, and ps, have a good flight.

It's perfectly obvious this is something to do with the update. This was not a problem before and now it's a constant. It's worse on very long threads. I find it both on my phone (Android, I don't use the app, so via Chrome) and on laptop (Android and Chrome again).

I assume there must have been some huge benefits for MN to this change, but I have to say there have been no obvious benefits for the users. Lots of features we used to have and took for granted were not there after revamp. Some have been added, for which much thanks, but there's still no decent Advanced Search replacement. Also, the single most important thing about a talk forum is being able to read what others have posted and, if you feel so moved, post a reply, and that's starting to feel like a challenge. You're stuck with me, I'm afraid, as I am addicted (where else can I discuss The Archers? also FWR is worth its weight in gold) but I wouldn't be surprised to learn others are drifting away.

YetAnotherBeckyMumsnet · 05/08/2022 09:55

@Throckmorton we're really sorry to hear that - we're working hard to resolve all the issues and so we hope that your break will be a v short one.

@Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g a new advanced search is currently in the testing stage. We v much appreciate that you're persevering and, as I said above, we hope to resolve these issues as soon as we can.

Hawkins001 · 05/08/2022 16:14

One thing may also help, @YetAnotherBeckyMumsnet is sometimes it's the browser itself that is crashin, as I was using eBay, and it jammed or crashed same way sometimes as it does on mumsnet, so I wonder if it's part browser based issues too

Don't forget we are always needed new members for the mumsnet mafia.

Thanks, we agree - there are definitely some browser related issues going on too!

Just to repeat what I said earlier, I have had no problems since I moved from the Chrome browser Edge.

Willowkins · 05/08/2022 20:16

... from the Chrome browser to Edge

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 06/08/2022 08:46

Just to add to this I am getting constant crash issues making the site unusable on my ipad air. It is an older model but this problem seems to have occurred since Mumsnet was down earlier in the week.
I am getting This Web page was reloaded because a problem occurred often followed by A problem repeatedly occurred on .... I am now only able to use the site on my phone - not ideal.

LouisRenault · 06/08/2022 21:50

Repeated freezing, reloading and crashing. Silk browser on Amazon Fire tablet. It has frozen or crashed so often when I'm part way through writing a post I no longer attempt to post when using the Fire tablet. Since the update.

Hello, can we check what app you're using - IOS or android? Could we ask you to uninstall/reinstall?

Artichokeleaves · 09/08/2022 08:51

Suspected variant manifestation of this issue with pages loading and crashing: for the past few days, endless 'page is not loading, wait or exit' error messages. On all threads in all parts of the site, set to 25 messages per page.

When trying to type in a post, the screen often wont scroll down so you end up having to type without being able to see the text being entered, and if you try to move the side cursor down, the screen jumps.

@lilymumsnet
It's on Android. I've already done all that, if it's suggested to do it again I won't bother reinstalling too much aggravation sorry

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 09/08/2022 09:29

I’ve reinstalled on my iPad, I think it’s ok now 🤞 .

That's OK! You can also log out and back in again which also refreshes it. Woul you be able to try this?

I've done all of this anyway

LilyMumsnet · 09/08/2022 18:03

No problem - we're still looking into it but it's difficult to replicate this one as it seems to be an isolated case on android. We're really sorry we don't have more answers at this time but we'll keep trying to replicate it.

StormTreader · 10/08/2022 11:42

I'm still getting the whole page going white and becoming unresponsive if I leave it open for any length of time and then come back to it in Chrome so its definitely not just an android issue.
