It's happening to me too. Keeps saying out of memory. Having said that, my laptop is struggling and I think it is MN that is causing it.
Once we've identified a fix we will check in and see if the issue is resolved. In the meantime, we're really sorry for the inconvenience.

constant message on screen asking to allow/don't allow storage now!!
so the app on my phone has the video opening
on laptop its a message constantly popping up
time to ditch mumsnet....what better sites are out there for a bit of chat/timewasting? done with this
We're sorry about this - we definitely don't want to lose you. Can we check - is this IOS or android? Can we have a screenshot of the error message? As much information as possible would be a really big help in us locating and fixing the issue.

Can we check how many posts you're viewing per page? If it's 1000 please can you change it - it may be that the device doesn't have enough memory to load that amount of posts.

Which device - my device? It's been set to 1000 posts to a page for yonks. There's no memory-space problem at my end.
Are you able to test viewing less posts per page to see if that fixes it? We don't expect you to keep it like that, we just want to pinpoint whereabouts this is coming from!

Thanks for keeping us updated everyone. This is proving quite tricky to replicate so we don't have any updates yet. We are going to continue investigating this.
If the site continues to crash for you then please could you try posting on a different browser? Just until we have this sorted.

No better for me - desktop & Chrome. It is especially bad on long threads with more than around 200 posts. You try to scroll down and the screen just won't move - it locks up completely and you get the little blue wheel of doom.

Hi Datun,
Yes, the longer threads definitely seem to be more of an issue. While we're finding the fix for it, we are finding that setting your 'view posts' to 25 or 50 per page rather than 1000 is preventing some of the crashes. Annoying if you prefer to scroll through and not wait for new pages to load, but it might be a temporary work around until it's properly sorted.

After being OK for about a week, page once again just crashed while I was in the middle of composing a post. Surely there shouldn't even be any code running while I'm typing?

Lost two posts I'd spend several minutes composing, in the last half hour.
Why does it matter how many posts we are viewing? From a functional point of view, nothing should be running/changing while I'm typing into a text box, other than the contents of the textbox itself.
I see adverts do change constantly, so I assume it's an advert crashing the page.

@Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g a new advanced search is currently in the testing stage. We v much appreciate that you're persevering and, as I said above, we hope to resolve these issues as soon as we can.

That's OK! You can also log out and back in again which also refreshes it. Woul you be able to try this?
