Website continually crashing on mobile device?

I’m using IOS and pretty much every day now, MN will scroll for a while but then just stop half way through the page, nothing else loads, it stops on loading and I can’t click any of the buttons on the bottom nav.

All other websites work fine. Any ideas @MNHQ?

By the way, please can you tell us what happens if you click on the 'close' button? Does it still freeze the page?

When you next see an ad, if you could provide the url it would be really helpful! If you turn your phone/device to airplane mode or turn off the connection, and then click on the ad, this will show the URL which you can copy and paste without actually opening the webpage.

@soniamumsnet the whole iPad freezes. Nothing works. I have to delete the window and re-search mumsnet.co.uk and see if it clears. It doesn’t always so that’s when I have to do the ironing.

Absolute nightmare now on my phone and tablet and getting worse. It's that massive central block of adverts - and what 'close' button? I can't see one, or trust me I'd press it.

When my phone freezes, it freezes my entire phone. None of the phone related buttons work either. All I can do is turn the whole phone off and even that takes a few attempts.

Its impossible tonight, halfway down the thread it goes white and I have to shut everything down and re open the site. Its happening on nearly every thread tonight.

Yes! this is me since this afternoon. Its fine on my laptop but I can't use either my ipad or android phone.

I'm having to use a laptop now too, @OhYouBadBadKitten.

It's absolutely impossible to use MN on any of my tablets or iPhone. It's the adverts.

On my phone I could see you had replied but it all froze. On my ipad I'm getting 'A problem repeatedly occurred'.

I’m getting The “A problem repeatedly occurred” message on my IPhone. I just updated to latest software upgrades but to no avail. As I have no issue accessing any other website in my phone this is a mumsnet issue not a phone issue. Come on mumsnet what’s is going on please. All fine on my IPad but that’s not the point.

Haven't been able to use mumsnet all weekend on my phone. Bottom bar doesn't work. Can sometimes see OP and two replies if find thread from google.

On the upside, have had a productive weekend!

I has the same problem with the website completely freezing on my phone, similar to others all other websites working fine. Oddly mumsnet worked in Incognito mode though. I eventually worked out it was the cookies causing the problem (Incognito mode it brings up the cookie permissions each time you reopen) .

I cleared all my browsing data and then came back to the site (in normal mode). This brought up the cookie permissions window again - declining permission for all cookies has kept Mumsnet working.

Thanks @CrabbyCat I have followed your advice and that seeks to have sorted it for me. Hurray. Wonder why Mumsnet couldn’t tell us this? Are they trying to push everyone onto the premium (paid) version?

I guess they don’t want to advise us to decline cookies as that is rich data for them?

I'm on the app on Android.
Last 2 days I can't scroll any further and it freezes the app totally.
Have reinstalled the app but it still happens.

No ad is showing for me when it happens.

Hi @thetimeisnow thanks for reporting this and sorry you've been having problems. Please can you completely sign out of the app and delete and reinstall, then sign back in again? Give us a shout if you're still having problems.
