Random videos of 'Amy' in threads...

As above. Why have videos of 'Amy' and her baby started appearing in every single thread I open? It's very annoying. Am I expected to pay for Premium or something to stop this?! Thanks...

Really suprised to see no further response from MN about this advert.

Like many others it's on every bloody page and doing my head in!!!

Ifailed · 23/03/2021 06:41

I feel like Ami is stalking me now, and as other PPs have pointed out, she appears at the bottom of other people's posts as if they are responsible for her relentless pushing of baby monitors.

Give it a rest please, Ami, you've made your point but are now becoming annoying & if you try selling me anything else you will only put me off whatever it is.

SylHellais · 23/03/2021 06:50

I’m also getting a bit sick of seeing the videos every time I scroll down. Super annoying.

It should be a priority. I'm also surprised MNHQ have stooped so low as to insert the ad into posts, meaning it looks like posters are spamming. What's the point of a talk forum where people are ignoring posters because they think the post is spam?

CuriousaboutSamphire · 23/03/2021 07:08

I'm now on my phone, the App. The only time I see her now is when you lot c+p her in a post.

Just stop it 😂

Stillfunny · 23/03/2021 07:13

I find logging in manually makes her disappear. Log out then try logging in again. Bye Bye Amy.

bearlyactive · 23/03/2021 07:18

Anyone else now getting videos playing with sound automatically and scaring the living daylights out of them?

Ifailed · 23/03/2021 07:23

Log out then try logging in again

Doesn't work for me. I'm on a PC with a browser.

Same here, she's still there. Following me.

Nooooo! I thought it couldn't get any more annoying, that sounds horrific. Grin

ElBandito · 23/03/2021 07:47

Poor Ami. You've really set her up to be ridiculed haven't you Mumsnet?
She's everywhere, it looks like she's pontificating on every thread.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 23/03/2021 07:55

I think vlogger Ami seems the antithesis of your average Mumsnetter in so many ways. Just saying.

And that lava cake whether it's weaning related (I so hope not) or not, looks just gross.

MarieDelaere · 23/03/2021 08:00

She's still here. Fuck.

GCAcademic · 23/03/2021 08:01

Sick of the sight of her. I can't stand vloggers anyway.

Chemenger · 23/03/2021 08:08

Shut up Ami. Nobody will ever buy your baby monitor, your cake is gross and everybody already knows how to make an omelette and stew some fruit. Go and get a proper job.

Same4Walls · 23/03/2021 08:09

Absolutely unfair on Amy. She's being made to look like shes spamming MN and obviously getting on peoples nerves when in reality it's naff all to do with her. Poor women probably doesn't even know her videos are all over the site.
Plexie · 23/03/2021 08:18

I've been getting Ami for months - why is she new for some posters? I don't even know what she's selling because my sound is muted.

I've been blaming her video for my increased data use. I assumed it's a standard Mumsnet advert and was thinking of signing up to Premium to get rid if it but a PP said subscribers see it too, in which case there's no point subscribing. I was willing to pay to stop seeing Ami!

BertieBotts · 23/03/2021 08:18

The scrolling issue is because you can scroll sideways on the ad itself. So when I try to scroll up using my thumb on a phone, if I land in the wrong place it tries to scroll the weaning videos instead of scrolling the page. Annoying.

BertieBotts · 23/03/2021 08:19

I had the same with another ad once before which had the same sideways scrolling feature. It's because when you scroll using a thumb on a phone, it's not a straight line up but more of a curve.

Hi - just dropping in to say thanks for all the feedback. We're making sure this doesn't appear on sensitive topics. Just to let you know that this ad doesn't appear on Premium www.mumsnet.com/service/premium (a user must be signed in). Flowers

So unless we pay for premium there's no way to get rid of it? Hmm I know you rely on ads, but this ad is so intrusive and the way it's posted makes it look like the poster is responsible, rather than MNHQ.
Same4Walls · 23/03/2021 08:42

Um I'm not trying to be unkind but maybe you should concentrate on removing it from all topics as you'll never actually be able to prevent it appearing on a sensitive thread that's posted in a high traffic area like AIBU.

Also it may not be your intention as you're obviously just trying to clarify a pp point but this post totally comes across as if you dont like it the only way to make it go away is to pay. Hmm

OhYouBadBadKitten · 23/03/2021 08:44

@soniamumsnet Can you at least stop embedding it on to a users post. It seems pretty rude to me to do it like this. Especially as sensitive posts can appear right across the boards.

If I'd posted something and ended up with everyone scrolling past my post to avoid the advert I'd be pretty upset.

Cowbells · 23/03/2021 08:44

Very intrusive and also misleading. It looks like posters are linking the video.

Blinkinblimey · 23/03/2021 08:54

Yep it’s annoying

Levrierssontmeilleurs · 23/03/2021 08:57

So we are stuck with it unless we subscribe to Premium ?

No sorry, that’s me out I’m afraid
