oh now look I was thinking of saying something like this, most awfully pleased that you've got there first and expressed it much more elegantly than I ever could have

guests as in journalists, like the one who quoted krazykoolkazza's insightful 'i do think the mccann's have acted somewhat oddly... particularly the mother...etc etc speculation ad nauseam' as being Somehow Representative of how MNers feel about this case.

Signed (as Hunker). Good thread, Aitch. Even though I'm not here. I object to those threads for these reasons (as posted on other thread):

Because it gets quoted in the press and a site that once had predominantly intelligent people on it looks like it's frequented by bosom-hefting gossips with minds so narrow the sides touch.

That's why I object to it.

It's speculation, pointless, idle speculation which, whatever the truth, does nobody any good and cheapens and demeans poster, site and Madeleine.

So whilst you're right, nobody HAS to read the threads if they don't want to, the very fact that they are there, lowering the tone of the whole site with their tiny-IQd rubberneckery irritates in manner of ignorant mosquito.

WelshBoris · 09/09/2007 12:11

You're not here? Again? Sup?

haychee · 09/09/2007 12:13

Not signing up, but am trying my hardest not to write poopants and bump up thread till its ends

NadineBaggott · 09/09/2007 12:13

I think one, or even two threads on the subject was to be expected but umpty-two, no.

Nadine

Aitch · 09/09/2007 12:16

i think the line is 'why are you reading this and posting on it?', isn't it haychee?
tbh, this is for the silent majority, not the vocal minority. but thanks for bumping it all the same.

Franca. It's not the existence I don't condone, it is the way events are discussed, transforming a tragedy into an operetta.

haychee · 09/09/2007 12:21

To be fair, there should be a poll conducted to find out the exact ratio of those for and against. How do you know there is a minority or a majority? The fact that the threads keep reappearing must proove there is quite a few who do not find it all distasteful.
Anyway i will leave now and let the thread run for your sign-ups as i am adult enough to allow you to run it. I will not bump it up till it ends - that would be unfair and rude would it not?
