Hi folks,

Yule never guess what... it's 48 days until Christmas!

We know what you're thinking... it's a bit early for turkey and Santa talk. Tbf, you're right, but we need your help!

At MNHQ, we are dying to know what Christmas films roast your chestnuts.

All you need to do is post your favourite family Christmas film on this thread. We'll track the answers and reveal the results with a Mnetters top ten video!

But wait—there’s myrrh. Did we mention that every user who contributes will be automatically entered into a prize draw to win some Mumsnet goodies? No? Well, everyone that contributes will be entered - and we'll be picking one lucky winner. So what are you waiting for?

Nightmare before Christmas, The Santa Clause and Elf are my favourites!

MostIneptThatEverStepped · 10/11/2019 17:10

Definitely The Grinch! My 3 DC in their 20's have watched it every Xmas Eve since it came out in the cinema and can recite the whole thing.

RachelFreeman · 10/11/2019 17:28

The Santa clause

CountFosco · 10/11/2019 20:30

It has to be Arthur Christmas, the first ten minutes are probably my favourite ten movie minutes (even better than the Barn Raising scene in7 brides for 7 brothers, and that's saying something). Also love The Snowman and we're quite fond of Nativity 1. Hate Elf and The Polar Express though.

MotherOfSoupDragons · 10/11/2019 21:45

The Santa Clause.

ThelmaDinkley · 10/11/2019 22:14

Pegase · 11/11/2019 06:39

Christmas chronicles was great

sherbetmelon · 11/11/2019 08:29

Arthur Christmas, keeps the magic alive for those children born in the 2010's growing up with technology. Love it!

Anniecott · 11/11/2019 08:30

The Santa clause and it's a wonderful life, couldn't choose between them.

backfarblackcar · 11/11/2019 08:47

The family man. I'm not really a xmas film person but when I first saw it i think it got me at the right time and I've watched ever since. With the children now we always watch the snowman/Father Christmas/the bear trio.

scrivette · 11/11/2019 09:31

The Snowman has to be my favourite.

youllhavehadyourtea · 11/11/2019 09:40

The Shop Around the Corner.

Don't know if it's a 'family film' as such - rather a romantic comedy. But just so lovely. Budapest at Christmas.

FloatOn · 11/11/2019 12:09

Muppets Christmas Carol here, though Arthur Christmas is a strong contender for second place!

CusheyButterfield · 11/11/2019 12:43

Muppet Christmas Carol is our absolute favourite.

CottonHeadedNinyMuggins · 11/11/2019 12:52

Pretty much all, even the crappy hallmark and Netflix ones.

Proper proper favourites are nativity 1 and 2, the mistletones, white Christmas, the bishops wife (just mskes me remember quiet Christmas afternoons snuggled up with my gran watching B&W films), elf and home alone 1

ODFOx · 11/11/2019 13:58

Muppet Christmas Carol for the family. Love actually or the holiday for we oldies.

FavouriteSoul · 11/11/2019 16:41

Miracle on 34th Street for me and my family, every single year.

WwfLeopard · 11/11/2019 16:54

Home alone, the 1st one

WwfLeopard · 11/11/2019 16:54
