Hi folks,

Yule never guess what... it's 48 days until Christmas!

We know what you're thinking... it's a bit early for turkey and Santa talk. Tbf, you're right, but we need your help!

At MNHQ, we are dying to know what Christmas films roast your chestnuts.

All you need to do is post your favourite family Christmas film on this thread. We'll track the answers and reveal the results with a Mnetters top ten video!

But wait—there’s myrrh. Did we mention that every user who contributes will be automatically entered into a prize draw to win some Mumsnet goodies? No? Well, everyone that contributes will be entered - and we'll be picking one lucky winner. So what are you waiting for?

Got to be 'Jingle All the Way' [santa]

WombleishofTheThighs · 07/11/2019 15:51

Nope, 'It's a Wonderful Life' is the best.

BristolMum96 · 07/11/2019 16:16

The Polar Express is a lovely family film

M0reGinPlease · 07/11/2019 16:16

Home Alone

Aventurine · 07/11/2019 16:18

Scrooge the 1970s musical

FadingStar · 07/11/2019 16:19

Easy...The Muppets Christmas Carol.

MustardScreams · 07/11/2019 16:20

It’s a Wonderful Life. Christmas can’t start until we’ve watched it on Xmas eve. We like the colourised version.

Kepple · 07/11/2019 16:22

Bernard and the Genie.
Richard Curtis, Alan Cumming, Rowan Atkinson, Lenny Henry. 90stastic.

MichaelMumsnet · 07/11/2019 16:24
Let's add some Christmassy trailers...
ItsJustASimpleLine · 07/11/2019 16:24

Arthur Christmas.

We watch it every year, multiple times. It really captures the magic without putting doubts in the kids minds.

I'm in desperate search of the light up reindeer slippers, every year I hunt and never find them Sad

BIWI · 07/11/2019 16:26

Miracle on 34th Street. But it's got to be the original b&w version!

Walnutwhipster · 07/11/2019 16:27

New last year but we all loved Christmas Chronicles on Netflix.

Arthur Christmas

three pieces of sticky tape

BIWI · 07/11/2019 16:28

... also partial to Raymond Briggs' Father Christmas here

HappyDinosaur · 07/11/2019 16:29

Miracle on 34th Street, but not the b&w one, the newer one.

IWouldBeSuperb · 07/11/2019 16:29

Muppets Christmas Carol is our all time fave -

But agree with pp that Christmas Chronicles has the making of a classic! And I'm not usually a fan of 'new' festive films!

EsmeeMerlin · 07/11/2019 16:34

Elf is our favourite film. I love it.

We also really enjoyed the Christmas chronicles too last year.

KingBobra · 07/11/2019 16:35
