Hi folks,

Yule never guess what... it's 48 days until Christmas!

We know what you're thinking... it's a bit early for turkey and Santa talk. Tbf, you're right, but we need your help!

At MNHQ, we are dying to know what Christmas films roast your chestnuts.

All you need to do is post your favourite family Christmas film on this thread. We'll track the answers and reveal the results with a Mnetters top ten video!

But wait—there’s myrrh. Did we mention that every user who contributes will be automatically entered into a prize draw to win some Mumsnet goodies? No? Well, everyone that contributes will be entered - and we'll be picking one lucky winner. So what are you waiting for?

Definitely Home alone! I feel like I know the script by heart!

DuckWillow · 07/11/2019 19:46

Too many.

A huge favourite is Christmas Vacation.

We also love Elf 😁

FinnBalorsAbs · 07/11/2019 19:49

Muppet Christmas Carol.

BridgetJonesDaiquiri · 07/11/2019 20:02

Santa Claus the Movie - the 80s one with Dudley Moore. Watched it every year as a kid in the 90s and every year since- I remember it was on BBC usually at some point on Christmas Eve. Still gives me a warm nostalgic glow now at 34. Can't wait to introduce my two girls to it (they're 2.5 and 10 weeks currently so a little young but soon!)

OctoberLovers · 07/11/2019 20:11

Christmas chronicles

BeardofZeus · 07/11/2019 20:14

Surely National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation is the winner? The drama, the family feuds, the meal, the SLEDGING!??! I laugh until I cry

Liz79 · 07/11/2019 20:23

Christmas chronicles is the new classic, otherwise miracle on 34th street

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 07/11/2019 20:26

I remember Narnia on tv when I was little so it’s not that ‘new’!

DecomposingDurannie · 07/11/2019 20:34

Muppet Christmas Carol of course!

m0jit0 · 07/11/2019 20:35

It's a wonderful life

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 07/11/2019 20:43

Probably White Christmas, I love old musicals.

Nativity is very good too, but I sometimes cry!

We like Mrs Santa Claus (with Angela Lansbury) too. It was made for tv, but it is very good.

Flube · 07/11/2019 20:44

Muppets Christmas Carol

LivingTheThighLife · 07/11/2019 20:45

Nativity - love it!

Clarke45 · 07/11/2019 20:48

There is only one winner....The Muppet Christmas Carol. Is it sad that I know it word for word?!!!

MiniMum97 · 07/11/2019 21:09

Arthur Christmas definitely. I LOVE it and watch every year. And I don't have small children!

Peacenquiet2 · 07/11/2019 21:09

Home alone for sure

UpTheLaganInABubble · 07/11/2019 21:10

It's got to be Elf Smile

With Jingle All The Way a close second!

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 07/11/2019 21:10

Is someone keeping score?

spicedappleandpear · 07/11/2019 21:22

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation and Trading Places 😁

HauntedmessFrogbeaver · 07/11/2019 21:25

Oddly, I really like The Wizard of Oz at Christmas

helloswellow · 07/11/2019 21:27

Always got to be Home Alone!

namechangedyetagain · 07/11/2019 21:39

QuietAndStill · 07/11/2019 22:05

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. LOVE it!

redpickle · 07/11/2019 22:10

Get Santa. Love it!

DianaBishop · 07/11/2019 22:22

I spent 8 weeks recovering from surgery over last Christmas. I watched back to back Christmas films.
Many I can’t remember as I was high as a kite on good drugs and most are instantly forgettable shite. But my ultimate favourite is White Christmas. Xmas Smile
