Hi,

Sorry to hear you're still having problems. Please can you let us know the device you are using and which platform you were on?

JLbaby · 25/10/2019 08:56

Iphone and ipad , ios13, safari.

soniamumsnet · 25/10/2019 09:28

Hi,

Just popping in to say that we're taking a look at the problem. In the meantime, please opt to view the site in the correct format. Viewing the desktop site on a mobile device will cause these issues.

Thanks again for your patience. Flowers

Just started on my phone: huge black areas all over the place. Stops me typing words out or seeing posts.
No better on mobile site which is awful at the best of times (sorry but adds in between posts and that huge row of 'buttons' at bottom is not great.)
Getting too much effort to post sometimes as have to jump back and forward to try to beat the adds and black areas.
Please sort it out.

Babdoc · 29/10/2019 08:22

MNHQ, if you don’t fix this problem, your site will be unusable. I am fed up with being unable to read the original post on almost every damn thread, as they’re covered up by adverts. When I click to close them, they’re replaced by a large white space, which still obliterates the content of the post.

soniamumsnet · 29/10/2019 15:25

Hi,

Thanks so much for flagging. Are you able to get us the URL to the actual advert please?

Huge adverts making the site unusable
Babdoc · 30/10/2019 14:26

I downloaded the app, and it’s got the same problem. When you click to close the ad, it offers a “report the ad” screen. When you do so, and click the choice “ad covers content”, you get a message saying “ad closed by google”. It then replaces the ad with an identical sized white rectangle in the same place, so you STILL can’t read the damn post!
This is beyond frustrating.
It’s even overlaying the list of active topics with up to three different ads, so I can’t even read the titles of available threads.
I’m giving up on Mumsnet until this is sorted.

This is now happening again with a Next advert.

Butterisbest · 01/11/2019 11:44

Yes, it's happening again with the Next baby ad.

GCAcademic · 01/11/2019 11:48

I’ve installed an ad blocker. I don’t like doing this as I realise sites like this need to attract revenue, but I feel like we’ve waited long enough for this to be sorted out by the IT bods.

Butterisbest · 01/11/2019 11:51

@MNHQ
Please get rid of the next baby advert. It's making the site unusable

SmilingButClueless · 01/11/2019 12:53

Also getting this with the Next baby advert today - URL is www.next.co.uk/newborn?dclid=CJCj16yGyeUCFVXi1QodSE4OXw

It had been better over the last few days...

Next baby advert! Agggghhhh!

Itshouldneverhavehappened · 01/11/2019 14:21

Happening to me too. Mumsnet site is becoming a nightmare to use.

Bearbehind · 01/11/2019 16:47

I didn’t know this thread was here and have just started a thread in AIBU about that bloody Next advert

A big cube pops up and spins around which shrinks all the text making it unreadable

And you can’t get it to go away

bsc · 01/11/2019 16:50

The worst offender is MN itself! The stupid pop-up with "wtf" on it....that the email typing box, and cross to dismiss it DONT WORK. The ad fills my whole phone screen, so can't use MN at all on it.
Android phone with Firefox.

bsc · 01/11/2019 16:55

And am I allowed to use this thread to moan about the "healthy smoothie" video? How on earth can that much honey be healthy?

Butterisbest · 02/11/2019 00:10

Next baby again, massive advert, please get rid of this huge unwanted, intrusive and seriously annoying advert

Butterisbest · 02/11/2019 00:12

@MNHQ It really doesn't matter how anyone is accessing the site. It's extraordinarily annoying.

Fluffycloudland77 · 02/11/2019 07:04

I’ve just got i this morning, next baby.

Toffeecakes · 02/11/2019 07:06

Next baby advert here too, I’m using the iPad and I can’t use the app because I don’t have the password to download it (not my device). I can’t see an option to make it go away. Please sort it out mumsnet!

FlissMumsnet · 02/11/2019 17:44

Hi notacooldad,

Would you mind letting us know whether this is still a problem when you use the ipad?
