Annoying pop ups

I keep getting an annoying pop up which can't be closed and takes me away from the page I'm on when I 'close' it. Some dodgy, 'You have won' pop up.

I'm on the mobile site on my iPhone using Safari, iOS 12.1.2.

Can this please be sorted?

It would appear that ad revenue is more important that site usability for the users. That's rather shit when it's causing so many issues.

Haven’t read all pages in the thread, but you press and hold the back arrow, you’ll be given a recent history. You can skip back past the dodgy page and carry on where you left off. Bloody annoying, though, and still happening.

My adblocker has a VPN not sure if that's why it's working for me but just tried it off and within 3 clicks I had a pop up again after a good gap with out.

Thought it was just me. Has been maddening. Anyone else now notice all icons are missing (eg ‘threads on’ ‘active’ etc all just blank boxes ? Everything looks rather different.

Ad revenue is fine, it’s a necessary evil for most free sites.

Keeping up dodgy ads which make the site virtually unusable because they are a source of revenue is not fine.

Despite claims they’ve identified the problem, MN haven’t stopped it.

Just cleared website data and still happening, in fact it has taken quite a lot of effort to log back in and navigate back to this page because every other click brings up the add.

There’s an article in the daily fail about it - not MN specifically, but random pop ups causing havoc, I’ve just had the same pop up as op.

I'm getting these pop-ups constantly now. I've cleared cookies at least 5 times, logged back in, the same thing happens.

Driving me crazy.

Haven't had the red one though - yet.
