Annoying pop ups

I keep getting an annoying pop up which can't be closed and takes me away from the page I'm on when I 'close' it. Some dodgy, 'You have won' pop up.

I'm on the mobile site on my iPhone using Safari, iOS 12.1.2.

Can this please be sorted?

They are more than annoying, you can't actually get rid of them and read the thread.

Last time this happened we asked for an explanation to which the reply was simply 'its nothing to worry about'. Would really appreciate a more technical and frank explanation this time around 🙄

If you turn on a add blocker it stops it must be another dodgy add that is causing it

It’s appeared twice while I’ve been trying to click on this thread! Time for some Netflix instead I think, been about 6 times today. Any idea how I stop it would be great. On an iphone

if you download an add blocker app it all stops they're are loads in the App Store I had mine turned off (some sites don't work well with it on) but turned it on due being redirected every other click on mumsnet and have been on for about 10-15 mins now with nothing (longest period allday without a pop up)
