Annoying pop ups

NoWordForFluffy · 22/03/2019 09:24

I keep getting an annoying pop up which can't be closed and takes me away from the page I'm on when I 'close' it. Some dodgy, 'You have won' pop up.

I'm on the mobile site on my iPhone using Safari, iOS 12.1.2.

Can this please be sorted?

Mobile site

Me too. If you click on the ‘show multiple open web pages’ button on the bottom right hand side of safari window, it should show you the spam page and other pages that have been opened. Click on the ‘x’ to close the spam page. Then double click on the home button on iPhone and swipe up to close safari. Should be cleared when you reopen the app

IncrediblySadToo · 22/03/2019 10:17

Me too.

Closing the page gets rid if it, but it pops straight back up on the next thread

Janleverton · 22/03/2019 10:18

Me too. I restarted my iPad and seems to have stopped for now.

tigerbear · 22/03/2019 10:18

Same here, I keep getting Sky adverts pop up 😬

Bluntness100 · 22/03/2019 10:23

Me too, it is bad. I am just shutting the tab down and re opening when it appears, but it's jist this site, the site is also jumping a lot, then it appears, so something is up.

MsVestibule · 22/03/2019 10:32

Me too, exactly the same pop up. The 'back' arrow doesn't work so I have to close it down - when I try to open another tab, the same thing happens again.

There is another thread on this issue, @AnyaMumsnet has been on to say that MNHQ are aware and are working to resolve it.

Here’s the other thread

NoWordForFluffy · 22/03/2019 10:44

Ah yes, I did have a quick scan but didn't see anything about pop-ups. And it's pretty poor that it's still happening 48 hours later too.

Ironically it's taken about 8 attempts to post this because of the bloody problem!

Hi there all,

We are aware of the issue and are trying to get this sorted. Thanks for your patience.

duplocupcake · 22/03/2019 11:49

I’ve seen the update above but just to add that I’m also getting this on the desktop site.

Thebookswereherfriends · 22/03/2019 11:50

Yep, I’ve just had two different dodgy sites come up while looking at different boards.

Hi, i’ve Been getting this too. Pop ups only when on mumsnet. Have restarted phone cleared internet history and pop ups but still occasionally happening. Am on mobile site.

GreyhoundzRool · 22/03/2019 15:53

Me too although its EE thats the pop up. I've had to come onto the app as I cant even post on the desk top

coffeeagogo · 22/03/2019 15:58

I can't use the desktop site as the pop ups divert me away from the site on every new thread - so very very frustrating
