Repeated pop up attempts

Today, while browsing MN, I have had repeated warnings that the site is attempting to open a pop up window.

I’ve never had this before - what’s changed? Is it legit? I’ve blocked each pop up attempt, so no idea what it is trying to open, or why.

(I’m browsing using an iPad mini, on Safari, iOS 11.2ish)

I've changed my settings in Chrome so hopefully I won't get them anymore...

I've just checked my Chrome settings, pop ups are apparently blocked, but it's not blocking these. Angry

For anyone still getting them can you clear your browsing history as this popup may have cached itself into your memory.

I cleared everything (11,900 items in my browsing history Shock) this morning and I've had three pop up attempts since. Using Chrome on an Android device.

We only made the change at around 9am, have you had them after this time?
