Opt in box ticked

Threads still don't appear in active convos

I know you saud you would look into it, but any chance this can be sorted out......I don't think it's just me!

Unfortunately I don't think much is going to happen, because every time it has come up, a few of us post, mnhq say, 'we're looking into it'.....then it fizzles out and disappears

Looks like you where right hazey Sad

Well let's be like an irritating bit of sun that gets in your eyes, no matter which bit of curtain you close, and maybe eventually it'll get sorted!

Lornamumsnet - sorry have been away, and returned to a seriously ill cat (and enormous vet bill), so had missed your post. The logging in thing had had a temporary hiatus.....if it returns, I'll let you know!

hazeyjane - we're sorry to hear about your poor cat - hope the vet's bill isn't too eye-watering......

We're crossing our fingers that the logging in isshoo is no longer. Wish we could solve the SN threads problem so easily.

We are still working on it (see: harassing our Tech team) Grin

I don't understand why it's so difficult though?

FWR was hidden from active for a few days and then restored really easily and quickly.

Why isn't it the same for SN?

Oh Hazey, sorry about your cat. Is all okay now? I'm all too aware of huge vet bills myself... They are the worst - especially when it's all so out of the blue.

With regards to SN threads - sorry we haven't got updates here, all. Please believe us - we've been harassing our poor tech team like there's no tomorrow!

In short, there's just a huge (absolutely giant) pile of things our tech team are working on at the moment. They've assured us that this is due to be looked at but it's not top of the list right now.

We'll continue to chase until it's resolved and in the meantime, we're really sorry that it's taking a little while.

If the naggy sunshine thing doesn't work, I will have to be irritating like a bit of snaggy fingernail that gets caught on your jumper.....let's hope it doesn't get that far, because I WILL WEAR YOU DOWN.....

Thankyou Lorna, fingers crossed they make their way down the pile quickly.

Cat trauma is a combination of ongoing (possible problem with growth plates requiring orthopaedic specialist and mega bucks) and discovering limpy cat had been overdosed by my mum whilst we went away, necessitating an overnight stay at emergency vets, blood tests and treatment to flush through toxins.....resulting in us having to a) sell an organ it b) sell a child - to be honest I'm not sure this would even cover the fecking enormous bill this drama created. (Puss is fortunately now toxin free and recovering, with hopefully no long term damage)

You are most definitely on the list - our tech team are investigating the issue as we speak.

Sorry Crochet - we pass on what we're told and at that moment in time. It may have been that it's a bit of a trickier fix and so got pushed back a bit more but know it doesn't really make up for all the pushing back I'm giving you.

Haha, that's perfectly alright - I will pass on the nagging personally until this is sorted.

Wow, what an absolute nightmare! Glad it's okay now health wise but sorry about the huge bills you're faced with.

On it, newroundhere!

We know it's a pain when things are not sorted quickly, but we really appreciate the patience here.

i ran out of patience long ago. its sad that the sn topic will be under used. there was a thread the other day where the op had posted in AIBU as the sn topic is so quiet.

My gin glass is half full rather than half empty, and I'm sure it will get sorted Samcro and then hopefully it will get a bit more traffic.

I'm not a gin lover either... But mostly because I can't stand tonic and that seems to be the usual accompaniment Blush

Any movement on this yet, MNHQ??

My nagging irritation today takes the form of a pair of pants that give you a repetitive wedgy throughout the day.....

.....this may take years, but like erosion I will eventually wear you down.

Yes
please.

I know there are a million and one other pressing things and the whole gender critical debate and deleting endless posts because of fucking pronouns etc are taking up your time.

This is a small thing. But I do think your special needs boards are going to just fade away if you don't sort it out. It's a shame because Mumsnet has been the best source of support and advice for me since having ds, I recommend parents to come here when they need help. There doesn't seem much point when threads get so few posts.

Any update @lornamumsnet? I don't have any DC with SN but for those who do it really feels like mumsnet isn't fulfilling the brief of being there for them.

How do we escalate this issue?

Report
FlissMumsnet · 14/06/2018 21:26

Hi Again newroundhere - we're so sorry this is still a problem. Will give this another chase with our Tech lot and flag to the big cheeses too.

We do appreciate your persistence and agree these boards need to be accessible and visible to all.

CrochetBelle · 14/06/2018 22:15

Love it. 3 posters question the progress and the one who doesn't use the boards is the one who is apologised to

What sort of incompetence goes on behind the scenes that is stopping this from being so easily rectified? I now believe Mumsnet are deliberately withdrawing the SN forums from the 'active' community, in a further attempt to force us off-board.

no offence intended to newaroundhere, thank you for flagging.

Report
TheCosmicOwl · 14/06/2018 22:47

crochetbelle I wondered that too - SN related threads are notorious for trolling, massive fights, falling outs, flouncing, troll hunting, banning and then much complaining by posters known to frequent the SN boards (and rightly so IMO) - maybe mumsnet think it's just not worth the hassle to attract this community?

Report
TheCosmicOwl · 14/06/2018 22:51

Because, I mean, just how hard can it be to fix this?

every now and again I check this thread, in the hope that it will be sorted.
I really think is important as so many people are going to miss on much needed support.
when I joined mn it was for the sn topic, it was a brilliant source of support. I have made friends with people from there and met some in RL.
its so sad that the topic is now hidden so well, that people are not posting on it, then new posters find it see its not used much and go else where. i feel sorry for people who need the topic. I have moved on from there now, but would like to opt in, just incase something comes up that i might be able to help.
