Weird behaviour with "back" button in browser - anyone else?

Over the last few days I've noticed if I'm browsing Active, I'm On or a talk topic and click onto a thread from there, when I press back to return to the list of threads afterwards, it often seems to skip that page and go straight to whatever thread I was reading before that, which is very odd. It doesn't happen every time, but enough for me to notice. I have thought maybe I've clicked back twice by mistake and gone forward again, but it's like the interim page is just deleted from my history as though I never visited it at all.

Is anyone else getting this? It's really strange and disorientating.

I'm on Chrome on Windows 10 on a desktop.

It has just happened twice. I was on one thread, clicked back and it took me out of Mumsnet altogether. I went back in, read another thread, clicked back and was again taken out of Mumsnet. This has been happening for ages now and is very annoying.

This is still happening for me and it really is so annoying that I'm coming to mumsnet less!

This normally happens every 4-5 threads (I click on active threads, click on a thread and read, then press back and instead of going back to the active thread title page, it takes me back to a thread or title page I have read previously) but today it's happening between every single thread I read, so annoying!

Ok stopped for a few days, then earlier had something REALLY weird happen... Hit back button and it went back to active threads - but it was active threads page from days ago, not the current active threads

I closed the window and reopened and it went right again.

Can we have an update please MN? it really is annoying, I'm definitely using the site much less.

Just came to this board to ask about this and saw this thread, it’s happening to me too!

It’s still doing it! It’s only this site that it happens on and it seems to happen whatever device I’m on! It confuses the hell out of me when I’m trying to find something!

Still happening, and clearly to a lot of us. It’s been almost a month now since it was flagged up to MNHQ and tech started “looking into it.” Not impressed with the response, I have to say.

It is driving me mad today! Please please fix it!

Hi again. We're so sorry this is still going on. We've just had a chat with Tech for an update. It's not been forgotten - they're still looking into it, but it's happening so sporadically it's been really hard for them to replicate the problem and work out what's causing it.

They are still looking into it and as soon as there is news we will let you know. In the meantime if anyone else is able to catch it happening on video please do email it in. It might just help Tech crack it.
