Weird behaviour with "back" button in browser - anyone else?

Over the last few days I've noticed if I'm browsing Active, I'm On or a talk topic and click onto a thread from there, when I press back to return to the list of threads afterwards, it often seems to skip that page and go straight to whatever thread I was reading before that, which is very odd. It doesn't happen every time, but enough for me to notice. I have thought maybe I've clicked back twice by mistake and gone forward again, but it's like the interim page is just deleted from my history as though I never visited it at all.

Is anyone else getting this? It's really strange and disorientating.

I'm on Chrome on Windows 10 on a desktop.

Also the screen jumps around when it loads Active Convos - I assume from an ad but I have an ad blocker installed. I keep clicking on the wrong thread!!
Same here.
My screen also enlarges.

BertieBotts · 10/03/2018 22:05

See I used to have the screen jumping issue but actually that hasn't happened to me for a while now.

I'd've really have thought you his glitch would've been sorted by now.
It makes the site so clunky and annoying.

BertieBotts · 12/03/2018 22:20

Nope - NM - definitely getting lots and lots of jumping in Active now! It goes up and down like a bungee!

Still doing it here too (and it seems more often), mostly when I'm trying to go back to the Full Talk Topics list - always takes me back to the last page of whichever thread I was reading previously.

The other thing I've noticed lately (which may not be related at all) is that when I click on my shortcut to MN (AIBU bookmarked on iPad) and click on a thread, sometimes the back button is greyed out completely so I have to go down and use the shortcut to AIBU at the bottom of the page to get back to it.

IHaveACuntingPlan · 13/03/2018 07:12

This is still happening! And I've also recently noticed the jumping in active conversations.
It is affecting my use of the site; I'm using it a lot less often now simply because when it skips right back to my google homepage I think, "Sod it," and go elsewhere since other websites don't have these issues.

MrMeSeeks · 13/03/2018 09:11

Still happening for me too.
Yes, back doesn't always work for me either.

ApplesTheHare · 13/03/2018 09:14

I thought this was just me (mobile site) and it's been driving me crazy!

CaptainHammer · 13/03/2018 11:28

Oddly, this has now happened on my laptop too. Only once so far.....

LittleMissNaice · 13/03/2018 17:05

Ha, just happened with this thread - swiped back and it jumped straight back to the talk index. Can’t believe this hasn’t been sorted yet.

rememberthetime · 13/03/2018 17:15

This happened to me about 2 mins ago. Also on chrome. been going on a few days.

rememberthetime · 13/03/2018 17:15

and the jumping to the top and bottom of the thread...

Catzpyjamas · 14/03/2018 19:21

Still happening for me too. If I click on a thread from active and then press back it takes me back 2 pages rather than one.

RiceButt · 16/03/2018 00:37

Hss this been fixed? It's not happened for over an hour now.

MissMatchedClaws · 16/03/2018 09:29

Nope. It’s still happening for me.

DawnMumsnet · 16/03/2018 09:49

Is this still happening for everybody except @RiceButt?

Am heading back to our Tech team to let them know.

nothingpunny · 16/03/2018 09:55

Still happening here sadly.

Itlante · 16/03/2018 10:00

It is still happening for me as well.

AlishaMary · 16/03/2018 10:24

Still happening here.

Sidge · 16/03/2018 10:34

Yup still happening for me.

On my Mac with Safari, my iPad with Safari, my iPhone with Safari and on a Windows PC with Chrome.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 16/03/2018 10:40

Still sporadically happening here too...

DawnMumsnet · 16/03/2018 11:01

Rats, I thought as much. Sad

So sorry, folks. The Tech team are beavering away - have asked if one of them can hop on the thread with any updates.

RiceButt · 16/03/2018 13:12

Yes my hour was short lived. Still doin it I'm afraid.

busybuildingdens · 16/03/2018 20:46
