Deletions due to being discussed elsewhere

Hi

I was wondering if this is going to be the case for all posts now? Can they be deleted just because they’re discussed elsewhere?

It’s a public forum of course all posts might be discussed elsewhere, that’s the risk you take when you post online.

Why doesn’t this happen when people’s threads end up on Facebook/twitter pages dedicated to slating MN users? Not to mention the scummy journos who lift entire threads on here but MNHQ are happy to keep them?

I thought you didn’t delete threads unless against guidelines etc? Is this going to be a new guideline? Must not be discussed on certain forums?

Your meaning was perfectly clear, Farse.

It was only misconstrued by those who were desperate to troll hunt , and those wanting to create a drama. To what end, who knows.

I expect they are still all chuntering on, feverishly trying to make connections that simply don’t exist.

FarseAboutAce · 16/11/2017 19:05

I've just read the end of a Reddit thread and realised I'm going to be accused of being a poster over there again. As well as being LaQ again - which is really fucking offensive by the way.

I also don't understand how supposedly sensible people who don't like trolls can't see that they are rapidly becoming what they say they hate.

Whoever said MNTrolls are being trolled to fuck has got it right.

Honeydragon · 16/11/2017 19:15

It’s ok they thought you were me Farce. I don’t think anyone can insult you more than calling you Honeydragon Grin

Now can some one please tell me

Why have I just read this entire thread and should I be able to understand it?

And

Please may I have a tin foil hat. Preferably a tin foil fascinater like what we wore when all this was fields.

Farce Im aware and I think some other redditors are that you 100% did not threaten anyone with police etc.

The post on the other site has been blown up for a dramatic effect which has is ridiculous.

Well, getting rat arsed with Pax and Battle didn't really help

Who is the main troll on Reddit?

Who was actually in Moldies?

ReturnOfTheMackYesItIs · 16/11/2017 20:42

There's quite a few people being accused or suspected of being certain posters on Reddit who probably aren't.

I wouldn't worry. It's all run away with itself and gone from a sub with a genuine purpose I agreed with and liked to some kind of massive conspiracy theory.

berylwool · 16/11/2017 20:45

MN Reddit trolls is being trolled to fuck from what I can see.

It is. And they've got themselves a nasty ghoul of troll, who's very prolific over there and has massively put me off posting.
I joined at the very start and it was a breath of fresh air. I think we need a MNtrollsTrolls group now though Grin

MaggieFS · 16/11/2017 21:54

I'm so confused. Don't know what doxing is and until I read otherwise, had thought Moldies was someone's user name.

User843022 · 16/11/2017 22:11

Everytime someone goes on and on about 'doxing' I can't help thinking about those huge plug in things on love honey.

Weebo · 16/11/2017 22:25

Huge plug in things? Shock

AstridWhite · 17/11/2017 07:42

So far so normal, then.

WomblingThree · 17/11/2017 07:42

@FarseAboutAce I understand what you are saying, but can I just ask - how are you so certain that you know who the OP on Reddit is so that you can AS her on here. This is what confuses me the most about this whole thing. You are saying that you know who the prolific troll is, but how? I’m not saying you are wrong or whatever, but if you are so convinced of everything, you obviously have a reason to be.

I also don’t like all the “I know something you don’t know ner ner ner”. Actually putting your money where your mouth is and telling us who it is would be the right thing to do wouldn’t it? Telling us a username on here and 10 (?) usernames on there wouldn’t be doxxing in the slightest.

As a side note, I was accused by someone on the Reddit sub of being two separate people on here - one who I was actually arguing with and one who I’d never heard of, but the “dates added up”. Someone had ASed my posts as me and then cross referenced with someone who had either left or name-changed and decided I was absolutely her, and several people agreed. 🤦‍♀️. This is why I’m interested in how you are so sure FAA, because they were absolutely convinced (and totally wrong). I don’t know how to prove I’m not who they say I am - and I’m sure I will now pop up on a thread over there as they try to find evidence or bitch about me.

ReturnOfTheMackYesItIs · 17/11/2017 08:07

No-one is sure. It's just that people think they are and post confidently so other people think they are sure too.

JoJoBow · 17/11/2017 08:22

So basically "trust nae fucker" here or on any other internet forum?

User843022 · 17/11/2017 08:49

'So basically "trust nae fucker" here or on any other internet forum?'
I think this ^ sums it up, it's not rocket science is it. It is ironic though that we are now discussing trolls on Reddit .

CoteDAzur · 17/11/2017 09:32

There are trolls in every online community, although perhaps not as obsessed with knickers, poo, and period blood as the ones on MN.

At the moment, there is a most amusing exchange on Reddit with the (male) moderator of the private board called “Mumsnet” there. For a while he was trolling MNers but now it looks like he might join them Grin

berylwool · 17/11/2017 09:43

Just to add that I haven't put any clues or hints as to the person I was referring to in my post. I wouldn't dare. Sorry can't respond on reddit obviously.
I just wanted to mention it as there is nobody to tell over there and only one active 'mod' as far as I can see.

'Trust nae fucker' as we say in both places, is probably sensible Grin

I saw that it was quite funny, I though it was going to be an off shoot of 4chan with loads of mn trolls and MRAs plotting and frothing. Then he posts a screen shot of.. a completely empty sub, no posts or subscribers Confused.

WomblingThree · 17/11/2017 10:18

@MyrtleMaracas, I know, such a letdown!
