Deletions due to being discussed elsewhere

Hi

I was wondering if this is going to be the case for all posts now? Can they be deleted just because they’re discussed elsewhere?

It’s a public forum of course all posts might be discussed elsewhere, that’s the risk you take when you post online.

Why doesn’t this happen when people’s threads end up on Facebook/twitter pages dedicated to slating MN users? Not to mention the scummy journos who lift entire threads on here but MNHQ are happy to keep them?

I thought you didn’t delete threads unless against guidelines etc? Is this going to be a new guideline? Must not be discussed on certain forums?

You sound like my Dh. He just turns up with stuff. I have a piano in the hallway. No one plays the piano, yet there it is.

And a sauna in the garden.

And do not get me started on his weird solar light purchasing habit.

And Tupperware.

Honeydragon · 17/11/2017 22:59

I too have a Tupperware habit.

I do not have too much Tupperware I have too little cupboards.

PerfectlyDone · 17/11/2017 23:09

That tree pop thing would just look odd in the garden, would it not?
The neighbours would talk and not in a good way.

I'm snogging all of you (provided there is enthusiastic consent) as I am bored and lonely and stone cold sober here. Sob.

PerfectlyDone · 17/11/2017 23:11

My Tupperware (and its lesser brand cousins) breed in their drawer.
To the point that I cannot close the drawer unless I play a game of 3D puzzle with them first.
And yet - there's never a box with a matching lid.
And there are more lids than boxes.

I asked for a small tv for the kitchen one. The tv in the kitchen is 48” ....it was better value apparently Hmm

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 18/11/2017 10:02

Honeydragon · 18/11/2017 10:16

I’m glaring at it right now do you can have s love from Honeydragons house photo as I’m sat on the settee avoiding doing anything productive like cleaning as he’s currently faffing about outside with rubber matting and treading dirt in and out. See the little windowsill with the satellite box on? I thought it would be nice to have a television on there. And on the wall is what I have as his mate at work was selling it for the same price as a 19”. And that was that.

So you can have a live from my house photo. I’ve not drank enough coffee for typing yet, clearly.

exLtEveDallas · 18/11/2017 10:27

Ooh honey, I would have RAGED at that. We have 4 TVs. There are 3 of us. One in my room - never used, one in DDs room - never used. One in playroom - used maybe monthly.
He bought them all.

He wants one in the kitchen because the woman who lived here before left her TV mount behind.
No. No. No.

Honeydragon · 18/11/2017 10:44

Dh is the same. It’s a good job I’m rather fond of him.

I do that as well Dixie, I use them as sandwich boxes/salad boxes for work. It's more environmentally friendly I would have thought to reuse a box once than throw it away?

GrommitsEarsHurt · 18/11/2017 16:23

Erm, hi. OP of the pulled thread here.

I contacted MNHQ to ask them if they could do anything about the fact that some posters from MN were ripping me to shreds on Reddit, using the same names they used here on occasion. I know that Reddit is sod all to do with them, but am in disbelief that posters are able to post bile about mumsnetters over there, then post here still.

My OP was about being raped. On the Reddit thread I have been called a "male masturbatory fantasist", "troll" and other, awful things.

I only provided details about what happened to me as posters told me I was being "vague". I set up a thread over there to challenge them and have just been abused again.

I no longer care if they believe me or not. I am just amazed that there are people so absolutely vicious. The stuff they were saying about me over there feels worse than the rape.

Apparently I had sock puppets and name change failures and alsorts. Which is weird as I was asleep by 02:30 and haven't seen what was posted after that!

Bloody awful people on there.

GrommitsEarsHurt · 18/11/2017 16:27

And I love your dining table @Honeydragon!

paxillin · 18/11/2017 16:30

I'm not sure that was the thread which inspired the OP here, Grommit. I think @Dippingmytoesin was talking about a thread about a split up.

GrommitsEarsHurt · 18/11/2017 16:38

Oh good, because it's been a shitstorm, I'm knackered and can't be doing with it anymore. God bigger concerns than those cunts over there.

ReturnOfTheMackYesItIs · 18/11/2017 16:52

This thread wasn't about you Grommit. And your threads here weren't pulled because of you being discussed on Reddit. They were pulled because lots of people on MN reported them.

GrommitsEarsHurt · 18/11/2017 16:59

Return - MNHQ said they had were pulled due to reports and that sadly they couldn't do anything about the troll hunting on Reddit (obviously) but would deal with any here. They were lovely about it.

Coconutspongexo · 18/11/2017 17:02

Grommit please look at the date I started this thread, it preceded your thread(s)
