Mumsnet Live Event - What would you like to see?

We're looking at hosting a Mumsnet Live event in 2018 (at Birmingham NEC) and we'd love to hear about what you'd like to see (or rather not see).

The idea is to transport Mumsnet from the world-wide web to RL.Whether you decide to bring the kids for a family day-out or come alone for much-needed relaxation and inspiration (and hook up with other Mumsnetters), there will be something for the whole family, including:

  • Talks and panel discussions with inspiring speakers; from authors and bloggers and food writers to parenting experts and psychologists and thought leaders.

  • health and fitness workshops and masterclasses

  • Style and beauty demos plus opportunities to talk to experts

  • Food tasting and cookery demonstrations

  • Entertainment for you and your children through music, dance, and art

Let us know what YOU would like to see at Mumsnet Live by 10am Friday 16 June. Everyone who joins the discussion will be entered into a draw to win £100 voucher for Love2Shop.

If Mumsnet covers every subject, then wouldn't the show also cover every subject? All the topics we have on the forums from cycling, camping, politics, pets, employment, TLGBT issues, health, food, fashion, etc, could be covered, but wouldn't that be rather general? Or will you keep it directly related to children?

A goody bag. Pre-filled with the requisite scarf, packet of pom bears and a sample penis beaker. Oh, and paper/pen in case you feel the need to draw a parking diagram.

Workshops on how to keep kids safe online?

MycatsaPirate · 06/06/2017 21:32

Well as i probably won't make it, being so far away I'll just chip in with what I'd love to do if it was nearer me.

Cat section - preferably with everyone from the litter tray so we can just lay about on bean bags with cups of coffee just discussing our cats.

Books section - with Amanda Prowse and Bill Bryson in attendance. Because I adore both of them.

Coffee stand with lots and lots of free lovely coffee.

A stand devoted entirely to Domestic violence, women's rights and all things available to keeping women and young girls safe. Perhaps free rape alarms, advocates from Women's Aid, those who have survived DV and moved on. Print up some survivor stories of rape victims etc and let others know you can survive and thrive.

Disabilities - for both adults and children. A place where those with disabilities can find out how to access help. A place where parents of disabled children can meet up, discuss what's relevant to them (which is often not relevant to most parents) and find a support network.

A creche for the DH/DP/MIL
