Pages keep reloading?

Sallystyle · 28/03/2017 17:31

The main page keeps refreshing itself because 'there was a problem reloading the page'.

Anyone else?

I'm using Safari on a macbook.

That was longer than this

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 31/03/2017 07:55

Can't believe it can't be sorted

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 31/03/2017 07:56

And this is the only site it's happening on

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 31/03/2017 07:56

So nothing to do with Safari...

GrumpyOldBag · 31/03/2017 08:02

Still happening. FFS MNHQ why don't you sort this out?

SoupDragon · 31/03/2017 08:21

So nothing to do with Safari...

It is to do with Safari insofar as it only happens in that browser. It is not Safari's fault though.

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 31/03/2017 08:32

Why would you assume afblockers are buggy when it's only MN that has a problem?!

JennyHolzersGhost · 31/03/2017 08:35

When you say Tech is 'looking into it', what exactly does that mean? Because if they were trying to replicate it then presumably you wouldn't also have to be spending your evening trying it yourself MNHQ.

ageingrunner · 31/03/2017 08:57

Still happening for md

ageingrunner · 31/03/2017 08:58

Me. Is it a ploy to get us to stop using ad blockers?

BeyondUser24601 · 31/03/2017 09:03

Adblock plus here too. I've turned it off and the problem has stopped completely. I haven't checked on my phone yet today, but that was also reloading despite not having an ad blocker on originally.

PuppyMonkey · 31/03/2017 09:05

I've just turned Adblock off - a dirty big intrusive Asda advert is popping up all down the side of th screen (iPhone on safari) - I bet you that's the cause of all the problems. Hmm

BIWI · 31/03/2017 09:13

I've switched to Chrome and installed adblocker for Chrome, so hopefully the problem is solved. But everything else is on Safari, which is a bit irritating - but also proves that the problem is only on Mumsnet.

PuppyMonkey · 31/03/2017 09:22

Seems ok without the Adblock turned on.

I suppose it'll be fine for another two weeks and then there will be another glitch which means we have to turn Adblock on again. Confused

BarchesterFlowers · 31/03/2017 09:22

Still doing it for me too - reloading. I decided not to install dolphin or whatever it is called.

BarchesterFlowers · 31/03/2017 09:23

I suppose our adblockers = reduced revenue for HQ so it will be interesting to see if they consider it worthy of fixing.

BringMeTea · 31/03/2017 09:35

Yes Barchester that is my concern.

53rdAndBird · 31/03/2017 09:39

I only installed an ad blocker in the first place because of an MN ad problem making the site unusable...

AngieMumsnet · 31/03/2017 09:40

We have been able to reproduce the issue with Adblock and we're gathering information to hand to the relevant 3rd parties for a fix to be made.
Thanks

OhYouBadBadKitten · 31/03/2017 10:09

Thanks Angie. Do you know why adblocker seems to be uniquely incompatible with mn? I've used adblocker for ages. What changed?

KatherineMumsnet · 31/03/2017 10:33

Morning, everyone.

Thanks so much for your ongoing patience with this.

Can we ask what version of Safari you are all using?

JennyOnAPlate · 31/03/2017 10:42

I'm using Never Ads not adblocker and am having the same issue...the problem clearly isn't with adblocker.

QueenOfTheCatBastards · 31/03/2017 10:43

I'm not sure what version it was for me. I have an iPhone 6+ and all my apps and the OS are up to date.

I've switched to the Adblock browser, set to block invasive ads only so I'm still seeing the basic ads, just not the monster side banners and massive pop-ups. So far so good. The fact I'm able to post at all is testament to that!

Hope tech manage to trace the issues :)

EdmundCleverClogs · 31/03/2017 10:45

I'm on the iPhone 5s, OS version 10.2 (according to google that should be the same as Safari).

Alexandra87 · 31/03/2017 10:46

This was happening to me I just uninstalled and reinstalled the app
