Sallystyle · 28/03/2017 17:31

The main page keeps refreshing itself because 'there was a problem reloading the page'.

Anyone else?

I'm using Safari on a macbook.

LornaMumsnet · 29/03/2017 11:34

Hi all,

Thanks so much for all of the information.

Apologies for not getting back sooner!

Tech are aware of this and are looking into it now.

LornaMumsnet · 30/03/2017 10:15

Hello!

No word from tech yet, so no change from yesterday.

Really, really sorry for the inconvenience that this is causing.

LornaMumsnet · 30/03/2017 10:30

Hi all,

Could we just ask you to let us know what version of Safari you're using?

LornaMumsnet · 30/03/2017 10:42

And where is this happening?

On all pages or talk threads?
Threads I'm on?

Thanks, all.

LornaMumsnet · 30/03/2017 11:00

The 'problem reloading page' - when this happens, can you grab a screenshot for us?

Can't apologise enough, we're digging right now.

LornaMumsnet · 30/03/2017 11:54

Sorry if there's been a misunderstanding - we could have worded our latest comment better (my bad)...

We take all of your reports very seriously and our tech team has been looking into this since it was first flagged.

We're so sorry that this is such an ongoing, problematic issue. We are looking into a fix which we very much hope will resolve the issue.

We'll update you with this ASAP.

AngieMumsnet · 30/03/2017 13:39

Hi All,

Sorry it has taken a while to get back to you, we were trying to figure out what was causing this.
We have turned off Smurf for now, can you please let us know if that has fixed the issue?

Thanks

AngieMumsnet · 30/03/2017 14:27

Ok, we will keep looking into it.

Thanks for the feedback.

AngieMumsnet · 30/03/2017 15:54

Hi,

We have a few people trying to replicate this so we can find the source.
Will keep you all updated.

AngieMumsnet · 30/03/2017 18:58

I am so sorry, I am now using safari on my mac and still unable to see what you see, I am continuing to screen the site to see if I can find the source of the issue.

IvyLeagueUnderTheSea thank you for sending that report, I will send that on to our engineers to see if it helps.

AngieMumsnet · 30/03/2017 19:03

Somerville

No I do not use Adblock, why?

AngieMumsnet · 30/03/2017 20:31

I've installed Adblock but still can't the reload thing to happen.
I've escalated to tech.

AngieMumsnet · 30/03/2017 21:29

Sorry guys, I meant I will update tech with the latest information being provided, they are already totally aware.

AngieMumsnet · 30/03/2017 22:08

I am currently typing this from my iphone 6, using safari, I am not having any issues but I have no adblockers on right now either.
My last message was from my mac, using safari and adblock on.

I am wondering if there are any other links here, what adblockers are you all using?

AngieMumsnet · 30/03/2017 22:23

I am going to look into adblock plus a little more as I know they have arrangments with some advertisers to allow them to be whitelisted.

AngieMumsnet · 30/03/2017 22:35

Does the problem persist when you turn adblock off, is someone willing to try it out?

AngieMumsnet · 30/03/2017 22:55

sounds like adblockers are buggy, let me investigate that more, will be in touch in the morning

AngieMumsnet · 31/03/2017 09:40

We have been able to reproduce the issue with Adblock and we're gathering information to hand to the relevant 3rd parties for a fix to be made.
Thanks

KatherineMumsnet · 31/03/2017 10:33

Morning, everyone.

Thanks so much for your ongoing patience with this.

Can we ask what version of Safari you are all using?

KatherineMumsnet · 31/03/2017 13:47

Thanks all! Tech are working to see which ad blocking apps might be causing the issue - we'll update you once we know more.

KateMumsnet · 31/03/2017 14:33

Hello

Thanks all for your patience - we have an update.

We've identified a bug with an external monitoring service that we use - their code on the page may have been causing the browser reloading/crashing issue for users who have adblockers. We've disabled it now - we've been testing and so far browsers have not crashed or reloaded.

Can you let us know it's solved the problem? Fingers crossed that's it.

Thanks again

MNHQ
