SLOW! It's so fucking slow now, I can't even get long threads to load any more

It's beyond a joke now, vast swathes of MN are now totally inaccessible to me. Can we PLEASE sort this out?

Desktop site on iPad/Safari impossible to use again this morning - possibly the worst it's been so far, I can't even get the first talk page I try to open to load regardless of whether I go in through history, bookmark, google search to the talk menu, google search to a specific thread...I've had to download the app just so I could post this update.

After not being able to get on at all this morning on my iphone, using safari or chrome browsers, I downloaded the app and it's working really fast. Just incase anyone wants to try it! Lets see how long it lasts

Me too! It's taken ages for me to post this! Feels like I'm on dial up! It's soooo slow, pages half loading, I'm having to close down the page and reload every time I come on here, it's making MN unusable for me. I'm using Safari on an iPad yet my android phone (chrome) isn't having the same issue!

Sort it out please!

I can't use MN on my ipad (Safari) any more. Even if I can get the site itself to load, none of the threads will load.

It's so frustrating - I used to love browsing MN but it's just too stressful now.

Oh - it's the desktop site on my ipad, not the app. The page half loads, then freezes, and it's not possible to click through to any threads. When it's been worst, it's actually frozen my internet and I have to restart the ipad to get everything going again.

Still happening here (iPhone SE/Safari). And like pp, it now freezes all of safari, I have to close everything down and start again.

Starts fine for the first 2-3 posts and then seizes up. Irritating.

I can't use the site on my iPhone right now. It loads up the home screen then freezes. Using Safari.

Really slow on my iPhone. Can't scroll. My pages are already set to 25 since when they changed the settings years ago. Ever since they made those first changes its never been the same. It's a wonder how I've managed to get to this page.

Can't load whole page. I've never had more than 50 posts per page. Can't click links, couldn't get on at all last night.

I use iPad on safari or iPhone 6. All the same problems.

Am using the app to post this but I do t like the app.

The same as the above PP, it's an effort to get anything to load and it freezes all the time. Sort it out.

Same problem with iPad with latest iOS. Cache cleared several times. Page loads then you can't click on anything.

I know I sound like a proper whinger, but why is it taking so long to fix? This has been going on for weeks! I don't understand why nobody seems to know what the issue is.

Same here, iPad, Safari, don't know if it is the mobile or desktop site but not the app. No talk page would load this morning. Fine on the laptop - Chrome.

Same here, site freezes when loading pages. Happens on threads I click on and also losing active/threads I'm on etc so nothing to do with how many posts per page I have it set at. Also why should I change from my preferred 1000 posts per page when it's worked for more than a year and it's only been this week that it's started to hang?

The only thing that resolves it for a while is closing the page down and loading it back up.

I'm on an iPhone 6s, mobile site through safari.

I can use my MacBook to access MN but not my iPhone or iPad. My iPad was fine up until early yesterday then it just freezes. I've cleared the cache, and it's just MN - I can load all other sites on my phone and iPad but just not Mumsnet.

Safari on all 3, the site on all 3 (not the app, I don't like the app at all).

It's driving me bloody potty, I can load the home page on my iPad and iPhone and it loads Active Conversations but then I can't load any threads. It just hangs, and I get a white page or just a few posts and then white space.

Still happening. When this happens I get the wheel of doom at the top and can't do anything. I have to come out and open a new tab. It was like the picture for around 8 minutes - I then came out of mn completely.

Using safari on iPad. It was problems like this that made people leave a forum I was on before and set up a new one.

Il use the app only to check here for updates as I hate it for normal use.

It seem fine now but I've had lots of problems today on my iPad with Safari. It has been absolutely fine using the desktop site on my phone though.

I've been having the same problems recently, my screenshots would be exactly like Bluntness' above. I'm on an iPad Air2, latest version of iOS 10, on Safari. In particular, Threads I'm On or active convos would load, or partly load, but the little loading wheel would still be going round. If I clicked on a thread title, the blue loading bar under the address box would move about a cm or so, then nothing. I tried waiting for the wheel to stop spinning, but it would take so long I'd have to give up.

I then noticed that when the first page loaded (TIO or AC), the ads at the top and on the right side didn't, and wondered if it might be due to a problem with that.

So I've now done what I always said I wouldn't, and installed AdBlocker on my iPad.

And bingo! Back to normal. I'm sorry about it, because I know Mumsnet needs ads to survive, but if I can't use the site, then I wouldn't be seeing the ads anyway.

I'm another one who had to give up on iPhone, on mobile site. It just completely freezes. I'm on Macbook now and all is well.

(I use Chrome on Macbook, but Safari on phone).
