Why is MN so slow?

I'm not moaning - honest!

But Mumsnet s very slow - all the time. There's definitely nothing wrong with my internet, I have 200MB download and all other sites are fine.

I just wonder why this is? Are you throttled?

getting ridiculous here, speed is so slow - mostly loading the adverts, twitter etc. (and I have an adblocker, but it still goes through the motions). It's unusable really at the moment. Add this to the stupid page jumping that is still happening, and you never end up on the right page, and it takes too long to load the wrong page and then go back to where you were and try to get the right page... giving up!

I still feel like my original question has been overshadowed somewhat

The jumping around as it all loads up is getting painful. I've clicked multiple times on what I wanted to open the last few days, only to find the page jumps and I've clicked on something else entirely.

I've survived the massive, constant ad banners reducing the thread I'm trying to read to three inches wide. It's not a fun experience and ad blocker is getting more tempting by the day.

yes it now jumps twice per page, takes about 30 seconds to fully load. Typing doesn't show up for about 6 seconds - not make tht 15 - after I press the keys.

It is also not my internet, as I use other pages fine. Just this site, and connected to the ads.

It's nothing to do with the recent upgrade either, as it's been a longer term problem that that - the past couple of weeks for this incredible slowness

(and the past 6 months for the page jumping, but I know you already know and don't care about that because you think it's to do with ad blockers. I'm not sure it is, but regardless, when combined with this slowness, the site is unworkable. I spend more time opening the wrong threads, and then have to wait ages for them to load before I can click back to the menu).

Ok I give up. The jump this morning is so big that I've started to read something, then it jumps hugely and what I was looking at is no longer even on the screen.

This is unusable now.

Started posting again in the last couple of days and often can't even access the site, it just times out. Absolutely NO problems with any other website, only MN.

Almost 4 minutes to post a photo. I actually left it and made a cup of tea and it was still loading.
No problems with anything else on the Internet.

Thanks for keeping us updated.

We appreciate that this is really frustrating.

Just to let you know, tech is aware and looking into fixing these issues, especially the annoying 'jump' that is making threads hard to read.

Hi @LIZS - just posting using the app now, and so far no issues. We'll keep an eye on the problem, and fix any bugs that we find, let us know if the problem persists.

Just happened again , thread in Chat . Dd got U in mocks ... also getting internet connection errors but other apps are ok.

Am increasingly having problems opening threads on the app. Have tried rebooting the router and closing other apps but still getting the "trouble connecting you, try refreshing the page" message.

I'm also getting that message on my app (so now posting via website).

I too am getting that message on app and so having to use website on safari. Please fix it Tech!

Still as bad as ever.
I have no problem with any other sites loading. Superfast broadband and yet it takes between 20-30 seconds for a page to load on this site.

Windows 10, laptop usually Firefox sometimes Chrome. Less often, iPad, ios, Safari.

What hobnobs said upthread. I'd been away from the site again due to this slow loading issue, came back a few days ago and it's just as awful as ever. Please sort it.
