Does anyone have any media contacts? Especially in the disability rights field? I'm sure someone must be interested in running an article on the issues we are facing (not from other posters, but from a huge company such as MN)

Alice - tried that. Unfortunately given everything that's happening with cuts to ILF, ESA, benefits cap etc there's too many vital things my contacts are needing to work on.

Disablism aside the idea that any and all bigotry should be left to stand is astonishing. It's a bit like asking "What's wrong with being racist?"

Exactly, Everysong. People would be appalled if someone wrote 'please don't challenge racism. And don't you dare get angry about it!' But disabalism is absolutely fine, apparently, so long as it's conveyed covertly. Shut up and be grateful, disabled people and carers!

Over the last week MNHQ have created much more of a THEM and US culture than ever before. It's turning into a site war, someone is going to end up doing something very extreme and very stupid and the outcome isn't going to be good.

This is so horrible to watch, how many people actually left the site yesterday over this?

Wave after wave to posters will reach breaking point due to the site moderators incompetence.
It's not going to end well, i actually fear there may be actual causalities from the fallout.

The OP on the other thread declaring herself and her dd disabled has in effect given carte blanche to all those posters who come on the disabilism threads to shut them down because now they will convince themselves that if one disabled poster agrees with them then the rest of us are wrong
