Mobile site keeps freezing up

I'm on Silk Browser on Kindle Fire HDX.
For the last 3 days, the site freezes, refresh goes on for ages, threads disappear half way down as if only half the page loaded and I have to shut the tab and start again each time.

Hello all,

It's the lesser of two evils here, we're afraid. Tech put things in place to stop the awful porn pop-ups. Unfortunately, it appears this causes some freezing on the mobile site. If we turn these safeguards off, the mobile site will stop freezing but the porn ads will come back, which, as you can imagine, we really don't want to do.

We have raised this with Google, but there isn't anything more that we can do from our end. We know that this isn't ideal, and we're sorry we don't have a better answer than this at this point, but we're continuing to work hard so that we can remove the safeguards that are currently creating issues for kindle users. Well, that's a rock and a hard place, isn't it? (No pun intended)

Oh that is a pain as just come on to say freezing has got worse. Please keep trying as site is almost unusable for me atm.

Hi MN,

I'm not on a Kindle (Chrome/Android) and I never had the porn pop ups. Could you please turn the porn back on so that I can use the site without it freezing all of the time? TVM

SlottedSpoon · 01/12/2016 15:07

Don't know whether this is the same issue or not as the mobile/kindle site but I am having similar problems on my ipad.

I get to the home screen but I can't navigate the site using touchscreen, it is just not responsive after the first one or two touches so keep having to open new tabs or hit the back arrow.

Not having any issues with any other sites on my iPad and MN seems okay on my MacBook.

Hello. Glad I found this thread as now having this problem. Took me 5 attempts to open the thread. Main problem is that pages won't load, can't open any threads or indeed click any links. On an S5, using Chrome.

marsybum · 06/12/2016 23:25

Having this tonight, using Chrome on Android

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 08/12/2016 10:32

It's SO slow, takes me ages to post! Posting from android phone.

zen1 · 08/12/2016 11:19

Same happening here on iPad. Extremely slow and not responsive when I touch different topics / threads etc. I have to refresh the page and it works for a bit then stops again. Other sites are working okay.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 08/12/2016 11:23

How do other sites manage?

Eyre89 · 09/12/2016 19:30

Freezing ridiculous amounts on chrome on mobile and crashing loads on safari on mac. Can't win.

SelfCleaningVagina · 10/12/2016 14:22

I have had to give up altogether on my ipad now, which is a bastard because my laptop battery is knackered.

SelfCleaningVagina · 10/12/2016 14:23

yes mine is safari on mac (ipad) Eyre99 although it's fine on safari on Macbook Air. Confused

Itisnoteasybeingdifferent · 04/03/2017 08:45

I am now unable to use the site on a tablet...
And I find the app is very poor layout.

It took me ages to find this post... there is no back to take you to the pervious page...
