"We don't think that this thread is disablist, it is a valid discussion that we don't think should be shut down. "

yet it has obviously been reported.
cause hurt and upset

or this message from mn hq
That CBeebies is just far too PC

Message from MNHQ: Thanks so much for all the reports about this.

Although there has been some interesting debate and discussion, we do agree that the OP and some of what ensues is disablist, so we have decided to delete.

how can these be interesting debates??
\not long ago mn hq said that they were going to be quicker dealing with this stuff
what happened??

Don't doubt yourself.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 20/08/2016 09:26

Or maybe they are reading it, but have decided on their approach. And it's not one which makes this a very enjoyable place any more.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 20/08/2016 09:27

Bye (for now? Don't know will see if am happier away from here) Flowers

Jasonandyawegunorts · 20/08/2016 09:28

I'm going to get the information i request here by a freedom of information request letter, they have to respond to those.

Then i'm going to make an official complaint.

Then i'm getting a legal letter sent about the hate speech.

They might ignore threads, but they won't ignore this issue anymore.

BeyondLovesSweetDee · 20/08/2016 09:28

I'm a massive overthinker Jason, it happens a lot Grin
For now I'll just stick at it, I don't think anything reportable has been posted anyway, it's just that drip drip drip effect

Jasonandyawegunorts · 20/08/2016 09:29

please don't go fanjo, Piratejones left a few weeks back, it's hard fighting this when therer are fewer and fewer people to stand against it.

BeyondLovesSweetDee · 20/08/2016 09:30

Nolite te bastardes carborundorum, fanjo Flowers

SpinnakerInTheEther · 20/08/2016 09:30

In the meantime maybe copying and pasting the 'official' statement everybody liked on this thread liked might be useful? Although the MN would have to be changed to something else...

FOI only applies to public bodies.

It's a public forum and the information i want was avalible to the public, untilt he thread was taken down..

All i want them to confirm is how long the hate speech was left up, becuase it was there after the other things had been deleted.

Jasonandyawegunorts · 20/08/2016 09:38

Mumsnet isn't a public body though.

Do they know that?

SpinnakerInTheEther · 20/08/2016 09:38

"Mumsnet needs to welcome, supports and encourage people with disabilities and additional needs to use this site. This means that posts or posters speculating or challenging the validity of medical, mental health, neurological or other similar conditions and diagnoses should not be tolerated. I would ask that posters consider the impact of their posts on people living with such conditions and diagnoses before posting."

So this could be an agreed stock response?

SpinnakerInTheEther · 20/08/2016 09:40

^support not supports. Typo.

SpecialAgentFreyPie · 20/08/2016 09:45

My DS1 is disabled, not ASD but some similar traits. DH actually wondered the other day about this very topic, and said perhaps we're lucky you can 'tell' DS1 is disabled because no one can just sy he's naughty. Sad Broke my heart a little.

I think it's worth pointing out that this really seems to be a MN issue that only surrounds Autism and ADHD. MNHQ do not tolerate disablist posts about mental illness, for example. So it's not even 'all' invisible disabilities, just this one.

Why?

SpecialAgentFreyPie · 20/08/2016 09:46

Please stay fanjo, you're one of the poster's who has given me strength over the years, don't let them win! Flowers

Yy ego. It wouldn't be half as irritating if we didn't like this bloody site Grin

Do you think the cost on the nhs (who don't even pay for them!) for mobility scooters is relevant to your obesity thread then, or do you think it's the "drip drip drip" towards disabilism?

Jasonandyawegunorts · 20/08/2016 09:52

till, it's the Pontius Pilate approach. Wash their hands of it and watch the users and the clicks

If i remember my bible jesus christ superstar He didn't actually wash his hands of anything, he tried to pass the buck to herod, then jesus was return and he SAID he was washing his hands of the mad man but had him crucified.

I have a fair idea what you are referring to in particular :) but yes there are many drip drip drip's and many disingenuous questions, covering many areas of -isms/-phobias. Fwiw, I disagree with all of these 'strategies', I much prefer a straightforward conversation as the chances of me misinterpreting it are minimal!!

Bit of a politicians answer to my question though Wink

hazeyjane · 20/08/2016 10:10

I think I may be off too. I can't believe I am saying that, after 10 years here, and meeting some very fine people on Mumsnet. It isn't just this issue, but just the abrasiveness of the place in general. Even a thread asking for advice or support seems to descend into point making and snidery (is that a word?!) and to be honest it is making me feel shit about things that are too important to feel judged for.

zen1 · 20/08/2016 10:24

hazey and fanjo, just wanted to say that if you do decide to go, I would miss your posts very much. I don't post that often, but have found your posts very supportive over the years, especially on the SN boards Flowers

Jasonandyawegunorts · 20/08/2016 10:27

Hazey not you to?

I fully understand wanting to leave, but please reconsider.
