Needa there is a massive problem with people silencing others for trying to raise awareness about behavioural issues and not to just think all kids are naughty, and you are contributing to it on that thread, so not sure why you are also posting here complaining about it.

Confused

It's more offensive to call all kids arseholes without applying any thought that there might be reasons for the behaviour other than bad parenting.

Anyway I'm not getting into it on the other thread and certainly not on this one,.

Can I ask what is strimming? Or is it stimming? I keep seeing it being mentioned and never sure what it is

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 22/07/2016 17:55

Thanks for deleting that thread HQ.

Re stimming..Google?

Ah I see. Yes that makes sense.

My little brother used to do it a lot before he became verbal. He isn't SEN yet but we notice certain things about him. My dad is in denial though and refuses to see it which is causing my mum to bury her head too. His nursery and child care carer have all pointed out things but because his appointment with the doctor was fobbed off they are happy to keep their head in the sand

National autistic society will have info on it on their site :)

Glad it's deleted but hope the people I reported will still be dealt with.

I have certainly added a few posters to my "dismiss at will" list because of their postings today. What an ugly thread, glad it is gone. It was started by a pbp, so the OP was probably intended to get all the disablist posters excited.

NeedACleverNN · 22/07/2016 18:07

I doubt it. My dad is.....not the nicest man when it comes to disabilities. He can be very ignorant and a basic twat when confronted with them. If my brother was diagnosed, I don't know how he would respond

A PBP with some knowledge of ASD methinks. Some issues going on there to say the least.

NeedACleverNN · 22/07/2016 18:11

I know. I pull him up on it every time but he never gets better.

I'll never forget a little girl I saw on holiday once. She could only have been about 3 years old. She had beautiful blonde hair and was wearing a pink floaty dress and she was dancing about and swishing her skirt. I sat there smiling as I watched dancing about. My dad looked over, swore, said some nasty words under his breath and moved so he didn't see her. She had Down's syndrome. I was only a teen but I still called him a twat for that. Got bollocked for it but I didn't care

Yes and I think they will get away scot free since the thread was deleted. Which is annoying.

Yes exactly.

Thornrose · 22/07/2016 20:42

SN bandwagon, SN brigade bollocks drives me mad.

Then you get "obviously this only applies if there are no SNs" How do you bloody know though! Angry
