MNHQ, please may we have Preppers Topic? At the moment we have 'Topic Takeover' on the spare topic of 'Ebola' which is confusing everyone!

We would love to have our own topic to talk about crisis preparation.

Although people are already calling it "preppers" which I also like.

PurpleHairAndPearls · 30/10/2015 12:54

I hope you're feeling better btw stratters that must have been terrifying. I hope you feel a bit better now and are being looked after. I have to say I don't think a hospital visit is complete without a small statue of Christopher Eccleston though.

Being Prepared is good

Preparing for the unknown?

Preparing for the bunker?

Prepping but not as we know it?

BOB? (Bugging Out Board) But then we'd need a BIB (Bugging in Board)

atticusclaw2 · 30/10/2015 13:13

ooo "threads" is very clever (although potentially confusing to anyone not subjected to severe trauma through watching it at school in the 1980s)

ISpidersmanYouMeanPirate · 30/10/2015 13:29

I'd never heard of threads. Was it any good?

cozietoesie · 30/10/2015 13:30

Oh I like BOB. (Although I think MNHQ might substitute other words for the BO bit think it didn't convey quite the right message. Grin

cozietoesie · 30/10/2015 13:32

It was a film of its time, ISpider but still difficult to watch. The War Game, a much older film, is in my view superior but that's difficult to get hold of after it was banned by the BBC.

swisscheesetony · 30/10/2015 13:46

If Rural Living can include such gems as "has anyone heard of Pinner?" I think we can have a prep topic.

If you've got a tube station you ain't rural

swisscheesetony · 30/10/2015 13:49

"Daryl Dixon's Darlin's"
Armageddon Outta Here

Stratter5 · 30/10/2015 13:52

Oh God, it was me that spelt it with an N. Can I blame it on illings, I still have a bit of a temp? Please? :(

ISpidersmanYouMeanPirate · 30/10/2015 15:03

Go on then Stratter

You did alert us to the necessity to pack a Christophe Ecclestone figurine in the hospital bag Grin

ISpidersmanYouMeanPirate · 30/10/2015 15:04

of packing not "to pack" ?

My English is going down the drain!

costbenefit · 30/10/2015 15:57

course you can, and I don't think you were the only one! Sorry if I sounded more serious than I intended.

SconeForAStroll · 30/10/2015 16:03

I bought a leather jacket for DH purely as a result of Mr Eccleston wearing one as The Doctor.

The bastard hasn't worn it yet, should I LTB? Grin

Stratter5 · 30/10/2015 16:34

Definitely Grin

JoanGalt · 30/10/2015 21:28

Just adding another voice the the ground swell that want a preppers board.

cozietoesie · 31/10/2015 08:27

Yes indeed.

Starlingsintheslipstream · 31/10/2015 09:37

I would miss the Ebola topic takeover threads - they tickle me for some reason Grin, I think because it's slight anarchical, but I really do think the preppers deserve their own section - there does seem to be a real interest in this.

JustineMumsnet · 31/10/2015 15:58

Did someone mention gin? Go on then! We'll get it up soonest. Think fact that people already calling it Preppers is pretty good indication that that is what it would be called.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 31/10/2015 16:04

Yay! Thank you

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 31/10/2015 16:14
