Some of the responses to posts are hilarious and I just want to show that person that I agree!

Come on mumsnet team it's a no brainer! Smile

Add the word 'agree' if you'd like to see that! (See if there was a like button it would be soooo much easier...)

Great post iK8.

NormaStanleyFletcher · 18/06/2014 20:30

No from me.

Sparklingbrook · 18/06/2014 20:31

Is it time to do the scores from this thread anyway? What's the consensus?

HaroldLloyd · 18/06/2014 20:32

Loads of nos, a few yes and one fuck off.

OwlCapone · 18/06/2014 20:32

When I said fuck off to owl it was because I can't stand the whole pompous replies to posts

I wasn't being pompous Confused

EhricLovesTheBhrothers · 18/06/2014 20:35

No to quotes
No to likes
No to rating posts
No to avatars
No to tickers

Just no. Don't fuck with our site.

OwlCapone · 18/06/2014 20:36

I do like the fact that MN has a "don't care any more" button. I use it regularly.

Sparklingbrook · 18/06/2014 20:39

So a summary.

ADD A 'LIKE' BUTTON MUMSNET!!!
TortoiseUpATreeAgain · 18/06/2014 20:39

"A like button hasn't done Facebook any harm.
Plus, sometimes I'm not in the mood to chat, maybe I just want to read a thread & contribute with a few likes."

Selling wine and chocolate hasn't done my local corner shop any harm (and I am definitely in the mood for those sometimes). That doesn't mean that MN should do it. MN and my corner shop are different beasts with different purposes, as are MN and Facebook. If someone wants Facebook then there is always... well... Facebook. There's no point MN trying to become Facebook Light, because that niche is already occupied. Rather than joining the stampede towards homogeneity, I think it needs to hold onto what makes it different from the rest of the web.

ZacharyQuack · 18/06/2014 20:40

No.

ExitPursuedByABear · 18/06/2014 20:42

Do the noes have it then?

It looks like it.

Hurrah

What the Jeff is so difficult about typing "I agree with Pag" eh?

And if you really, really like a post, pm the OP.

TortoiseUpATreeAgain · 18/06/2014 20:43

Possibly the most interesting conclusion to draw from this thread is that while it is a personal attack and deletable offence to tell someone to Fuck Off on MN, it is apparently OK to say that you would like to tell someone to Fuck Off .

Fram · 18/06/2014 20:45

"pm the OP" Shock

Isn't that a little creepy, and stalkerish?

Yikes- if you really, really like a post, just reply effusively!

shakethetree · 18/06/2014 20:48

PM the op telling her you like her posts? is this a dating site?
& it is time consuming typing 'I agree with Pag' - what if she posts 10 times & I agree with all 10 posts?

evelynj · 18/06/2014 20:49

Hear hear, like like! See motley fool.....

Sparklingbrook · 18/06/2014 20:49

'I agree with everything Pag said' covers that.

CoteDAzur · 18/06/2014 20:54

"it is time consuming typing 'I agree with Pag'"

If "I agree with Pag" is so time consuming Hmm, try:

^ This.

Or the old MN favourite:

What Pag said.

ExitPursuedByABear · 18/06/2014 20:54

Oh you know what I meant.

ExitPursuedByABear · 18/06/2014 20:55

Maybe we need a Pag button?

HaroldLloyd · 18/06/2014 20:57

I agree with what your saying pag once would suffice I am sure.

In fact I was a yes. But I am changing to a no, because the OP spun me out with the ranting.

WhizzPopBang · 18/06/2014 20:58

Please no... copying Facebook would not be an improvement! If you want likes, updates on peoples' emotional state and general nonsense sharing go to FB, if you want an altogether more engaging experience, go to MN!

IAmANightOwl · 18/06/2014 21:00

Agree! Grin

Pregnantberry · 18/06/2014 21:04

One of the reasons I like MN rather than the other parenting forums like Netmums (which has a 'like' system) is that the quality of debate here is better, posters have a broad array of opinions which they aren't too afraid to express/censored for, and it's just generally more grown up. A 'like' button would definitely detract from those things, it would signal a 'dumbing down' to me.

Pregnantberry · 18/06/2014 21:06

(...I know that this is 7 pages later but wanted to vote 'no' because MNHQ said they were paying attention to our opinions on the matter, and I really don't want a like button!)

DramaAlpaca · 18/06/2014 21:08

No, no, no, NO!

Hope I've made my feelings sufficiently clear.

I completely agree with what Pregnantberry has just said above ^^
