Some of the responses to posts are hilarious and I just want to show that person that I agree!

Come on mumsnet team it's a no brainer! Smile

Add the word 'agree' if you'd like to see that! (See if there was a like button it would be soooo much easier...)

No.
No.
No.

I'd be OK with a "Fuck off to NetMums" button, though. If enough people click it, poster finds herself on NM, with a username automatically created for her.

It would come in handy with fans of txtspk & people requesting tickers & Like buttons, to name a few. Think about it. It would be just as fun as stealth-bullying dissenters via the Like button.

I thought MNHQ had confirmed they were going to do YABU/YANBU buttons on AIBU? A sort of MN like button if you will. I would like to see those. I think they would cut down massively on some of the more unpleasant posts on there. Which would be nice :)

MardyBra · 18/06/2014 19:20

Another No vote.

MardyBra · 18/06/2014 19:21

And there should be a ban on shouting in thread titles too.

andsmile · 18/06/2014 19:26

'agree' button

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 18/06/2014 19:28

I also like the idea of two MN skins:

MN classy Classic: Just the forum, no extraneous shit like flags, or seasonal emotiocns or social media buttons.

MN common Modern: As above with flags/emoticons/footers/animated shit and sparkles/like buttons/quotes/social media buttons... All the stuff that divides so many people.

Sparklingbrook · 18/06/2014 19:46

Ooh MN Classy, that sounds lovely.

Softlysoftlycatchymonkey · 18/06/2014 19:51

MN classy! Arf? Grin

It will be empty !!

Softlysoftlycatchymonkey · 18/06/2014 19:52

Agree button sounds good!

Sparklingbrook · 18/06/2014 19:54

Shock Speak for yourself Softly. Grin It would be all tasteful.

Fram · 18/06/2014 20:05

Haven't we already been down the route of two MNs? There's a Christmas I'll never get back!

DorothyGherkins · 18/06/2014 20:08

No, no and thrice no.

NinetyNinePercentTroll · 18/06/2014 20:09

No. It's bad enough will all the pictures and flags.

schoolsgettingonmynerves · 18/06/2014 20:10

When I said fuck off to owl it was because I can't stand the whole pompous replies to posts. Boring. And I can shout at who I like. I'm so bored at people trying to constantly say the right thing in the right way. Just say what you think and fuck 'em.

And it is a light hearted thread I just can't help biting.

Anyway carry on...

A like button would be awful. I used to go on a craft site that had like and dislike buttons. And all you got was people's indignance. And why did only three people like my post what was there to dislike about my post. It would be unbearable. It would give folk yet another thing to moan about. And accusations of being got at. Please no.

shakethetree · 18/06/2014 20:16

I'm in favour of the like button,
constantly typing 'great post shakethetree' is a bit arse licky, not to mention time consuming - pressing 'like' is just like nodding in agreement. A nod is as good as a post to a busy person.

Sparklingbrook · 18/06/2014 20:20

If you are too busy to actually write something there's not much point being on MN really. Sad

It's called 'Talk' after all.

HaroldLloyd · 18/06/2014 20:20

Can we tell people to fuck off on lighthearted threads now?

Goodo.

Fram · 18/06/2014 20:25

Why are you telling people to Fuck Off? This isn't AIBU...

shakethetree · 18/06/2014 20:25

A like button hasn't done Facebook any harm.
Plus, sometimes I'm not in the mood to chat, maybe I just want to read a thread & contribute with a few likes.

iK8 · 18/06/2014 20:26

What you need, shakethetree is a nice short name.

Much easier to kiss ass when the name's short and memorable Wink

Softlysoftlycatchymonkey · 18/06/2014 20:29

sparkling will 'classy MN' have animal print flimsy scarfs? It's was a true 'classy' MN - so no swearing would be allowed Shock

Sparklingbrook · 18/06/2014 20:29

FB and MN Talk not comparable IMO. FB is full of pictures, and the odd comment to 'Like' as far as I can tell, it's not a place for lots of people to talk all in one go.

A Like button would certainly highlight the people who don't RTFT.
