within site rules, particularly, but not only, in reference to this thread;

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/2094153-To-think-that-a-lot-of-the-time-having-someone-in-the-family-with-a-disability-does-mean-being-long-term-poor

Have NCed obviously, but MNHQ can obviously see who I am and maybe we can get this cleared up one way or the other.

Sorry Nerf X post

Nerf · 01/06/2014 13:29

No worries. Smile

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 01/06/2014 13:37

This thread will go, whenever hq do appear as by naming (or hinting at the name) it will count as "bullying" to them.

As yes, it may well be her real view point. But whether she intends to upset, or its just a coincidental side effect, the point is that she is upsetting people. And that she has been picked up for upsetting people, on multiple occassions, and to continue to do so, knowing that people are upset and not caring, is trolling because she is posting knowing she will get a rise.

Smilesandpiles · 01/06/2014 13:38

So once again, the ones calling troll are silenced while the troll is left alone.

FidelineandFumblin · 01/06/2014 13:39

I actually disagree there beyond. I think MNHQ have a lot of reading to do to get to the bottom of this one.

FidelineandFumblin · 01/06/2014 13:41

Don't prejudge it smiles. No one's silenced us yet. We might be pleasnatly surprised Smile

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 01/06/2014 13:42

Which bit fid?

Am arguing with dh now as to what constitutes trolling Grin

For instance, he goes onto the daily mail message boards to "enlighten" them, i said, well yes, you are trolling them!

FidelineandFumblin · 01/06/2014 13:43

I got a reply to my report on the original thread saying they were looking into it and there haven't been any deletions over there yet have there?

Smilesandpiles · 01/06/2014 13:44

Not yet. Give it time.

FidelineandFumblin · 01/06/2014 13:45

I disagree that this thread will go (necessarily).

That's different - the DM need enlightening Wink

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 01/06/2014 13:49

I dont disagree with that! Grin

But still, if you are on the side of the "right" (as in correct, not political right!), if you purposely seek out people on the other side of the debate, knowing that you arent going to convince anyone, you are just picking a fight, then imo that is trolling

FidelineandFumblin · 01/06/2014 13:54

Well it depends whether you are seeking to start an interesting debate or just drone blithely over people about how shit and worthless they are i spose Grin

FidelineandFumblin · 01/06/2014 14:03

(erm I was assuming your DH is actually slightly politer than HMOO Blush)

Pagwatch · 01/06/2014 14:12

To be honest ( and I admit I haven't read the thread in question) I do think that if a poster shows themselves consistently to be a bit of a cunt it is better to try and ignore.

Once there is a 'ooooh look at me' Katie Hopkinesque tone then they're become faintly ridiculous and a bit easier to dismiss.

I have genuinely reached the point where there are a couple of posters where I just think 'you sad pathetic tosser' and only respond to stop the wankage remaining unchallenged.

But, of all the people that could upset me, they can't because they are so utterly...small.

I know not everyone can do that and I think mnhq need to look at consistently unplesant posters who dance just inside the guidelines because otherwise This Is My Child becomes pointless.

I will go and read the thread now - and will come back to withdraw this post a pile of guff...

Pagwatch · 01/06/2014 14:15

And apropos nothing, isn't it a shame MNHQ never have an
'hilariously ironic username of the year' award.

Owllady · 01/06/2014 14:15

Do mnhq have Sundays off? Confused

Smilesandpiles · 01/06/2014 14:16

No, they've just deleted another thread. So they are about and watching I'll assume.

FidelineandFumblin · 01/06/2014 14:17

I imagine they are preparing dossiers.

FidelineandFumblin · 01/06/2014 14:19

Grin

The things is not everyone does know who to ignore. Newbies certainly don't.

Pagwatch · 01/06/2014 14:21

I know Fideline.
Plus if one reads a thread on a bad day it changes things completely.

I'll just withdraw it now - save time Grin

Owllady · 01/06/2014 14:25

After saying on the other thread I wouldn't read it, curiosity got the better of me and I have read about a quarter. I now really want to post that some days when my daughter, who is severely disabled, is at school I GO TO BED SLEEP FOR A FEW HOURS Shock

Smilesandpiles · 01/06/2014 14:27

I told you you'll need vodka Grin

FidelineandFumblin · 01/06/2014 15:13

Oooo can we also have vodka-dispensing threads when things get lairy MNHQ? Grin
