I want tickers and avatars .... I appreciate others may have an opinion on this, which is lovely, and good for you. I'm not going to be dissuaded though.

The site is a smorgasbord board of pointless lary coloured sales pitch and bumph.

It's bursting with venomous spite and bilious stupidness some days (amongst the stalwart niceness soldiering on regardless) , so on those days I'd like to see a spot of cheer.

A unicorn crapping a rainbow, or a humorous meerkat picture with a whimsical caption.

I want kittens and puppies and flowers.

I want tickers telling me how long it was since the poster last handed out grips.

We've been told Mumsnet is moving on.

If it is, I want the the future to be sparkly and twee to the fucking max.

then why is it slow? It's been slow, ever since I clicked on this thread.

MNHQ is trying to trap signatories of this thread in a time vortex. That's what it is.

You did it!

Not sure about tickers ( actually I am - they're awful ) but I'm always disappointed when I go to hit the 'like' button & it isn't there.

Like buttons are a must on any talk forum, they really help you feel connected.

ExitPursuedByABear · 22/05/2014 14:12

No, no and thrice no to a likey button

xpost soz, Grin

TillyTellTale · 22/05/2014 14:27

Compromise: achieved.

I'm with Fenton. Mumsnet: the place where the highest sign of approval is being totally ignored. Isn't that so MN?

shakethetree · 22/05/2014 14:27

Grin Fenton.

Big 'Like'

shakethetree · 22/05/2014 14:33

Is that right Tilly? I'm glad you've told me that because a few days ago someone said I was the most boring person on the thread ( & it was a big thread ) she obviously fancies me really.

PurplePunkPrincess · 22/05/2014 14:39

We definitely need a like button, and be able to edit posts. The come in a bottle proves it is needed!

I really wish the app was better, can't even NC on it Confused

TillyTellTale · 22/05/2014 14:39

Definitely

Did she pull your hair? If so, you're in there. Ask her on a date!

Minnieisthedevilmouse · 22/05/2014 14:43

I'm actually in agreement with Tillytelltale. The site feels a bit old fashioned now. It needs a revamp.

And there was me thinking I'd be vetoing shit all over the place.

Oh I'm all for sparkles. Bit o glam cheers me up!

FourForksAche · 22/05/2014 15:01

but it doesn't need to look like a homemade birthday card, eh?

AlpacaLypse · 22/05/2014 15:07

The only thing I'd really like is to be able to directly reply to a particular post rather than just launch in and hope the resulting x-posts won't be too daft!

And of course I'd like a fluffy kitten or two as well.

But then most of my posts would be sludge brown.

Weep

What about colour coding Aibu posts? Red for yabu and green for YANBU brown for sitting on the fence then we could tell at a glance whether to bother.

TillyTellTale · 22/05/2014 15:18

I have more than ten people I'd want to highlight, though.

Your plan needs more work.
