Excuse me for i have sinned , Yes I am a subscriber to another site like this , but it is dedicated to Disney nutters like myself. I thought I would pass on some of the stuff that is useful on there which would be great on here.

BTW I love coming here more!!!!

  1. The name of who started the thread
  2. Online photo gallery of mumsnetters ( possibly conflicts with anonymity may need more thinking)
  3. Personalised online signatures with emoticons or pictures

Thats it for now

Would anyone like a link to the DisneyWorld chat board ??

LOL Melsy, don't fret Of course you're allowed to be fickle, that's a mumsnetter's perogative

melsy · 24/03/2004 11:15

Melsy, don't be silly I'd not thought of a profile page until you suggested the photo gallery.

The profile page could maybe allow you to put a picture on it so, Mothernature, you could say "look at my profile" when you wanted to show someone a picture.

My profile would have a picture of the Soup Dragon and the vague description that I have 2DSs and am from the SEast. You could be as vague or as specific as you like.

mothernature · 24/03/2004 11:24

SD mine would be:

Mothernature: (Pic of nature) 2ds 1dd 39+ yrs old, P/t worker from Lancashire..email address........

SoupDragon · 24/03/2004 11:30

Is it you or your DD who's 39+ yrs old?

Coddy · 24/03/2004 11:31

no signatures pl

mothernature · 24/03/2004 11:32

LOL... me ya fool... god I know I'm old, but not old enough to have a dd that age..she's 13 btw

papillon · 24/03/2004 11:33

not if sent today... will go and look!

justiner · 24/03/2004 11:33

Sorry about that link Mummysurfer - should be fixed any minute. My dear colleagues have terribly fat fingers!
Lou am keeping everything crossed for movie reviews - hopefully tonight - assuming there's nothing too good on telly (Tech's a bit of an addict)
Will ask him about the latest sitch with pics re profile page and let you know...
Justine

Coddy · 24/03/2004 11:35

melsy dont take it personally at all!

i dont use mumsonline as it get on my nerves the icons and the quotes - cheesy.

Like the member s page idea- of course you can all seeme on the mods board - new pinny on all the time!

I also DEMAND a pic of Tech and more on his addiction to coronation street

Kayleigh · 24/03/2004 11:37

Maybe we need the option to change the nickname on our own post if the post is the first on a thread and no-one agrees with you.
Whaddya think Melsy ?

oliveoil · 24/03/2004 11:55

I like the idea of a profile page, kids details, age etc. Can I use a photo from when I was 18 and a 'moggel'?

melsy · 24/03/2004 12:06

Spooky very spooky Kayleigh , thats exactly what I was thinking. On the Disney board you can go in a re edit your post, after posting, but it is a little slower than this one. Mumsnetters are quick on here so it would be out there in the world already !!!

prettycandles · 24/03/2004 14:51

I would like an emoticon for 'embarrased'. But please, no signatures - they're just too distracting and competitive.

And when I search for threads to which a particular member has contributed, I want to see the time of the latest contribution, not the time at which the particular member contributed. Yes, it's my hobby-horse but it's what I want!

Sonnet · 24/03/2004 15:14

would too love an emoticon for embarrassed...
Can we pretend I'm using it now??

Embarrassed emoticon....can somebody pls explain in an idiots step by step guide how to put a link in - embarressed emoticon used twice here...

lou33 · 24/03/2004 15:23

Thanks Justiner. Can we have pics of all of you on the board too? Including Tech as noone will tell me what he looks like!

Blu · 24/03/2004 16:06

This is by far the simplest, clearest and easiest to use of all the Boards I have visited. The layout and structure is great. (I'm vehemently anti-signatures, too!)
I think that it would be good to have a subscribers-only section (for security and as a troll deterrent, and to increase ££ for the site)which included a gallery facility, members profiles, and perhaps a chat-room, as an upgrade for the nightly bars.
But the open access, no-need-to-register nature of the board is GREAT for people who need urgent info or re-assurance on parenting.

SoupDragon · 24/03/2004 16:14

Tech is the James Bond of Mumsnet, Lou

lou33 · 24/03/2004 16:16

Ah but there have been so many soupy. Which one?

SoupDragon · 24/03/2004 16:20

Erm... the next one?

CountessDracula · 24/03/2004 16:22

Emoticon for angry would be good too

lou33 · 24/03/2004 16:25

Lot of help you are! (needs sulking emoticon here)

papillon · 24/03/2004 16:27

SONNET
copy the bold text in the Links and emoticons box (bottom right of the mumsnet window/screen)

\link news.bbc.co.uk\this{}
(I put a space after the word link so it would display here)

then remove the text news.bbc.co.uk and replace it paste with the link u want to give

SoupDragon · 24/03/2004 16:40

TBH, I only say him once, a year ago across a crowded room...

lou33 · 24/03/2004 16:43

Sounds like the beginning of a love story Soups...
