Excuse me for i have sinned , Yes I am a subscriber to another site like this , but it is dedicated to Disney nutters like myself. I thought I would pass on some of the stuff that is useful on there which would be great on here.

BTW I love coming here more!!!!

1. The name of who started the thread
2. Online photo gallery of mumsnetters ( possibly conflicts with anonymity may need more thinking)
3. Personalised online signatures with emoticons or pictures

Some really good thoughts on here - will make sure to consider all when Tech's doing his updates. Think the jobs area idea is really good too. It's in our not far off plans to overhaul the noticeboard area and we think a classified jobs section could work really well, so we'll look into it further and keep you posted. Thanks Beachyhead.

ks, an avatar is the picture you see under a poster's name in the box on the left of their post on other boards. I use a picture of the SoupDragon, oddly enough

You can turn off the signatures, its not rocket science.
No one forces anyone to post on different sites if you don't like the layout and if you find it too difficult then surely you'd avoid the site.
I don't see why mn needs to change, if they wanted to change the layout then mn would have begun implementing them a while ago, surely.

Agree - I don't see why MN has to change either. I like using, and sometimes posting, on different sites. I like different sites for different reasons. Wouldn't want them all to be the same. Think they all have their good bits (and sometimes negative aspects) - like with anything in life. It's all about variety I think

Nothing wrong with making changes here, although I think most people value the simplicity of mumsnet's layout and functionality compared to other sites. Not a criticism of other sites at all, just an observation.

Like idea of expanded classifieds and user profiles. Mn is a thriving community so it makes sense to expand the facilities on the site to cater for that community surely!
