Excuse me for i have sinned , Yes I am a subscriber to another site like this , but it is dedicated to Disney nutters like myself. I thought I would pass on some of the stuff that is useful on there which would be great on here.

BTW I love coming here more!!!!

  1. The name of who started the thread
  2. Online photo gallery of mumsnetters ( possibly conflicts with anonymity may need more thinking)
  3. Personalised online signatures with emoticons or pictures

Thats it for now

Would anyone like a link to the DisneyWorld chat board ??

I think there illegal now anyway aren't they

fio2 · 24/03/2004 19:06

no not illegal i mean like on ukp

Tinker · 24/03/2004 19:09

No, this board is great. Few graphics so can peek occasionally at work. HATE HATE HATE all those signatures and personal mottos things and certainly want to lurk in peace.

BUT the other site I use (Gaurdian) does let you subscribe to a thead which is great when there are so many on the go. Plus, I do like the way you can do italics, bold and smaller font stuff. That's all, it's simple though, like mn, like me

Tinker · 24/03/2004 19:09

Oh, and there was a picture of tech topless once

tigermoth · 24/03/2004 20:36

Tech has very nice-looking, non fat fingers I have seen him just the once, too!

tigermoth · 24/03/2004 20:37

don't like graphics - keep mumsnet simple, I say!

SoupDragon · 24/03/2004 20:39

Average height/build with dark short hair IIRC. It was, unfortuately, at the book launch last year and there was free champagne...

lou33 · 24/03/2004 20:54

So, average height, short hair, nice fingers. Thanks, now I can picture him exactly (not)!

stupidgirl · 24/03/2004 20:55

The ONLY thing I would like is a profile option. So that if someone mentions a child, you can click on the profile and see how old said child is, or where they live or whatever. It just saves a bit of too-ing and fro-ing if the basic information is there already IYKWIM

GillW · 24/03/2004 21:20

Could we have a check when we post a message to see that an identical message hasn't already been posted by the same user on the same thread? It would stop all those accidental postings when you refresh the screen or hit the post button twice.

Tech is lovely - could we have regular pics of him in a state of semi-undress please?

melsy · 25/03/2004 10:38

Just a few more emoticons would be nice like ; embarresed or hugs. BUT NO BOUNCY BOUNCY ONES AGREEED ????!!! & the formatting ability like bold , underline or other simple things.Like the subscribers profile section though. MSN fininshed with their chat rooms due to privacy problems I think. The only problem with Messenger is that u can see someone has gone online, so you send a message and you get ignored, hows that for fuelling paranoia!!! Even though I suggested something really anoyying the other day , if we get some good improvments then something good came out of it.

SoupDragon · 25/03/2004 10:47

Lou, short dark hair. I did manage to give one precise detail

Natt · 25/03/2004 10:54

I disagree about average height - i would say tallish - lovely eyes...

SoupDragon · 25/03/2004 11:17

So, he's averagely tall? That should help Lou!

Natt · 25/03/2004 12:17

Hazel eyes, does that help? This just proves we need more pics

Coddy · 25/03/2004 12:21

come on Tech - speak up for yerself!

CountessDracula · 25/03/2004 12:22

Blimey poor Tech, has a pack of wolves slavering after his bod.

justiner · 25/03/2004 12:28

Sorry Lou, No movie review topic yet - telly must have been too good last night. Will keep nagging!
Justine

Natt · 25/03/2004 13:01

Feel bad now, have probably scared Tech to death...

justiner · 26/03/2004 18:07

Hello All,
We now have a new Movie review topic section as suggested by Marthamoo, so all you budding Barry Normans can tell whether to bother going to see something or not. Plus there's two new affiliate buttons on the homepage - Oddbins and Majestic Wines (both offering good deals) - so don't forget to click through from those when you're stocking your cellars - can't think why we thought you might want those...
Best,
Justine, Carrie and Rachel

oh dear... I am about to be shunned by all....
I infact like allthe bouncy emoticons and anoying signatures. I love avators and pictures too, I belong to many forums as apart from being a mum, I have many hobbies that I like to talk about in their many forums....

I do like the simplicity of mumsnet too and the forums I belong to are varied with the amount of features they allow

I may sound horrible but i do get slightly ticked of by som attitudes i have come accross in mumsnet... people oppenly snide at those who can't spell or make mistakes.... I feel paranoid when I post because I like to type shortened words and text typing. Someone mentioned they HATED that....

I feel that there are mostly older mums on mumsnet and i often feel alienated. I was browsing the meet up thread and heard euthonism for young mums as wearing velour tracksuits and having a mobile phone with pop ringtones said in disgusted tones...so what I like such things infact i would love a velour trackie but am too fat for them

I hope i haven't offended and expect to be shouted at but so be it.... there have been many a time i have bited my toungue and said nothing when I have read things.

PS.. I am not saying people can't give their opinions, infact other peoples opinions are very important, it is just sometimes I feel they think their opinions are the be all and end all.
