Ah - see! That's what I was trying to prove with mine. But mine goes to pages. So it IS a hashtag issue! MN, that's why most of your links are coming up as all on one page!

Oh, yours takes me to page 4 as well. So a paginated view, as per my settings.

Are you normally paginated Bertie? Could that be the issue? Mine is set to 500 (used to be all :() so perhaps that accounts for some of the discrepancy.

Yes, I am. 100 per page. And of course, there are less than 500 posts on this thread currently so yours wouldn't show pages yet. But I know that when I've made a link before, with the hashtag thing by mistake, or possibly when I've followed others' links, the thread linked has come up as all on one page. But now I'm not sure if that was something that happened when the person making the link viewed AOOP. Because I've never had mine set to that, I don't know if it actually changed the URLs themselves (like it does when you click "show all messages") and now it's too late to ask anybody to check!

The Reality/Listen Up one in Relationships, that's linked a lot, and it always comes up as one page when I follow a link to it. But who knows what threads I've seen that on - I wouldn't be able to search it, I don't think, so I can't check the URL.

Its seems to have got slower. Went on a 500+ thread on mobile the next page button was totally unreponsive. It now takes forever for keyboard to come up in reply box and couldnt post earlier on

If there is any way for MN to check how many posters have gone to their settings and opted for 500 would that number be an indication to you of how irritating members find this?

It seems to me when you choose to do away with something just for the sake of random traffic on heavy threads (i.e. making it easier for MN threads to be visited by random visitors who are not members) what you are going after is advertising numbers/ through traffic numbers and to heck with regular members.

I agree with all of it Tee. That all in one page is my preference (better when things kick off!) but that I can cope with 500 posts per page and one extra click.

(And actually thinking about it I'd prefer with one extra click if it means that thread will load quicker rather than like treacle which it often does, which it will, as Sham explained earlier)

but they're not loading quicker Justine, thats just it.. if it was noticeable i'd be ok, but its not, its just as slow!

Not according to Google Page Insights, DeckTheHalls - our page speed on desktop and mobile is considerably quicker over last couple of days (though to be fair we've done a few things - not just the pagination thing).

Not according to Google Page Insights, DeckTheHalls - our page speed on desktop and mobile is considerably quicker over last couple of days (though to be fair we've done a few things - not just the pagination thing).

Not on my mobile (samsung galaxy note ) it isnt. It takes forever to load first page, Then it takes forwever for the next button to become responsive and if I want to reply it takes forever to load the keyboard to reply. I started loading the battlebus thread in relationships (over 900 posts at 14.09 and so far it has taken over 5 minutes and i am still not on the second page. i will have to wait minutes before the keyboard becomes responsive and the 5 minutes to for the post to go through.
It is quicker on the app, but that is missing so many other functions I dont like using it

Now 14.19 and still not on second page. The buttons on the purple banner are not responsive at all. Its the same on all the long threads now. I didnt have this problem before at all. It may have taken a few minutes to load but at least i could read all of the thread
