The new Navigation Bar (at t'top): the "official" thread

Hello. There are ruddy millions quite a few threads in Site Stuff at the mo about changes/glitches/weirdy stuff related to the release of our new Navigation Bar (the big blue bar at the top of the page that helps you find all the various bits of Mumsnet).

So, for clarity's (and sanity's) sake, we're starting this thread to keep everything in one place - and have just one thread where you tell us what's not working for you and where we update you on what we've fixed/are fixing etc etc.

Right then...

A couple of quick answers/updates for you right now:

• The PM Inbox flag/blog/"you've got a PM" icon is now back. Apols for having inadvertently made it disappear.

• The jumpiness/flickiness of the Nav Bar in general: we're working on sorting this now - and hope to have a fix released by tomorrow.

• MyMumsnet: this will reappear on the Nav Bar at some point in the next three days or so. In the meantime, you can find MyMumsnet here.

• Keep me logged in. We're looking into this - and will update you soon.

Any more Qs/probs/moans/peans of praise (hopeful), do please post them here.

MNHQ - STOP PISSING ABOUT!!!!!

I've just gone into my account section and instead of my email, it's got my frigging nickname!
and it's blacked out so i can't change it
i've never chosen nickname over email!

Sorry. Not sure I follow you. Both your email and your nickname should be there.

when it asked me to log in.

when i'm in my account it's there, but the log in screen has changed since this morning from email (not blacked out) to nickname (blacked out)

There is a list of nicknames, but it isnt clickable, it's just a list.

The ideal place for the list to be, like I think it was befor, is where you get a drop down clickable list so you can login using any one of your previous nick names

When you go to threads I'm watching, we need a checkbox right at the top which is select all, so you can delete the lot when you want a clear out without having to go down and check 100s of individual boxes. Thanks

My talk button is still sitting on top of the others when I use Firefox but not on my ipad
My last post was ignored unanswered but it's really annoying me now, it looks all awkward.

yes, but, on my computer, it remembers my email and password ans already fills it in for me.
Because you remembered nickname, computer couldn't fill it in as email and therefore i had to type in password. :(

Have logged into desktop site for the first time in a few weeks. I like the drop-down boxes but (like lots of others it seems) am not keen on the stock shots - I keep accidentally hovering over the pregnancy tab and that gurny, plaity, vest-toppy woman is really irritating. I feel like she's mocking me for my lackadaisical mouse manoeuvring.

That does sound annoying. But we can't replicate it in Firefox from here. What are you running Firefox on? Sounds like a laptop or home computer?

ARGH! I agree completely with Nickel/UandA - I do NOT want to be addressed by my RL name on MyMumsnet! I am Thumbwitch and have always been some variation on that since joining here, thanks. I have a whole alterego including email set up as Thumbwitch. THAT'S WHO I AM!!

YouveCat - is it a zoom problem with your own setup? If you're zoomed in too much, it might be causing that.

My talk button is also sitting above 'Pregnancy' and so not part of the main title strip (Chrome, still) - I hadn't noticed this as I was so pleased at losing the 'offers' hidden over 'talk' . It looks to me that, in pushing Offers back up to the end of the bar, there was no room for 'Talk' so it went upwards instead - at least its not hidden though. Makes me think of the rhyme... "roll over, Roll over..."

And at HelenMN strikeout fail! Do you get sent to the corner for that one, Helen, or are you now the Starbucks gopher for the week?
