Colour code zombie threads?

I unwittingly contributed to a thread that had for some reason (best known to the person that did it),been resuscitated,

Could you add, a colour bar where the title is, or on the side, that indicates how old a thread is, blue for current, green a week old, yellow a month, orange six, and red year and beyond,

Then people would be instantly aware when joining in with a thread as to when it was started, as clearly a lot of us don't spot the year when on these threads, and some times people carefully choose threads that the day and month match to resuscitate.

Anyway it would be a simple way of stopping the annoying problem, and for people like the person who started the thread in the above link, they wouldn't have to have something they probably rather forget jump out at them, I hope the OP of that thread is happy now.

I love the new zombie thread alert. It is just perfect. Grin

Sorry to piss on your chips HQ, (I do love the zombie pic btw!) but could we have a warning at the top of the thread too? Just thinking with all the posts here about someone benefiting from the advice years down the line, that advice changes over time, and could be hugely inaccurate by the time the new person sees it?

Maybe if the warning disappeared at the bottom after two posts, but one remained at the top of the thread? (Also saves me spending hours reading a thread to get to the bottom and find its a dead one!)

Late to the party, but it worked! I almost posted on a zombie thread....until I saw the zombie! Yay!

BlehPukeVomit · 14/08/2013 20:59

I don't think the zombie warning should disappear at any time even if the thread receives lots of new posts

quoteunquote · 14/08/2013 23:17

I agree the zombie should stay for entirety, then at least people would be able to make an informed judgment if they wanted to contribute to the thread.

The zombie should stay a lot longer than two posts, it may be giving a false sense of security.

I didn't bump the thread by writing a zombie warning on it, maybe MNHQ should comment on threads like these, so even if the warning has gone, it will help people to remember to look at the date of the OP.
