Women presumably who don't have a certain sense of humour, or don't agree with certain (long standing) posters being described as beige admin workers who nag their ugly husbands, who were friendless at school, wear cheap clothes, have no fun in their sad little joyless lives etc etc Literally paragraphs and paragraphs of nastiness.

This is some of the most vile and misogynistic stuff I have ever read on MN from other women. These kind of comments normally come from trolls and MRA invasions. Is this really what MN has become? Does everyone think that this sort of shit should stand? What happened to the fucking sisterhood?

I am astounded to be quite honest.

Just checked my (2) MN facebook groups and not a whisper about this... everyone is too busy having a life Grin

McBalls · 30/03/2013 20:15

See?

This is all good, all therapeutic. Marvellous!

Stepissue · 30/03/2013 20:15

Jesus Madame - that's terrible, is there anything anyone can do to help?

Portofino · 30/03/2013 20:15

I must have met around a dozen of the posters on this thread in RL. And they is all lovely. None have 2 heads or scales or anything. I certainly don't hate anyone.

OP posts:
ginhag · 30/03/2013 20:15

It's just the overall 'thing' sparkling.

I find it really disconcerting. But then I am a fucking hippie and probably seen as a 'wannabe' or something ( as far as I'm seen at all...)

That's the thing. This thread was started due to upset at how people were characterised on another thread.

Then, interestingly how (some) people have been characterised on this thread may possibly have upset ME!

So, round and round it fucking goes.

And really. WHAT IS THE POINT.

MadameDefarge · 30/03/2013 20:16

i dont do joining. i like shiney. she makes me laugh. doesnt make me some kind of mn groupie. shudder.

ginhag · 30/03/2013 20:16

Sorry to hear that Madame, and yes, can we help in any way?

usualsuspect · 30/03/2013 20:18

Yep,that thread upset some posters and so has this one.Not so marvellous really is it?

Stepissue · 30/03/2013 20:18

Portofino · 30/03/2013 20:20

Madame, that is very sad. Where in the country are you? I am sure there are MNetters that would be happy tow help you if they could.

OP posts:
YellowandGreenandRedandBlue · 30/03/2013 20:20

I hate no one. I am sad when anyone is upset over something on here.

Madame - I am sure it feels like that but no one wants to be small minded. No one knows what goes on behind closed doors. What you just posted was a glimpse into your life, I see the human behind the words iyswim? You might similarly glimpse into someone else's, you might see the root cause of sadness behind what you think of as small mindedness?

ginhag · 30/03/2013 20:21

That's what I mean usual. Everyone's telling me this is healthy debate and all, but it's just not my kind of thing.

Tbh I've been out of here more than in recently and may continue that way. Obviously the world will stop turning Wink but that's how it goes innit.

cestlesautres · 30/03/2013 20:22

I'd say most people on here do want healthy debate and not personal vendettas or hate stuff. I did mention intellectual rigour up-thread.

usualsuspect · 30/03/2013 20:22

Oh madame don't cry. Ignore all this bollocks on here. It's not important really it's not.

Stepissue · 30/03/2013 20:24

Madame - I've pm'd you Smile And now I'm going in the bath - rock n roll here innit?!

Think was good discussion. Hope no one is feeling bad over it.

LadyBeaEGGleEyes · 30/03/2013 20:24

Oh, MadameDeFarge, I didn't have a clue Sad.
You have been so cheerful and upbeat since you came back.

cestlesautres · 30/03/2013 20:25

And if this were a thread like the other one, I would now be ripped to shreds for talking about intellectual rigour. Even though I personally think it's really important. A hint of that happened when I mentioned the word calumny, which happened to be the right word for what I wanted to express.

YellowandGreenandRedandBlue · 30/03/2013 20:25

And Madame, I wish you so well. It might sound mad as I know you not at all but that post is the one I actually care about on here, because what you said is really real and I hope all will work out for you.

MadameDefarge · 30/03/2013 20:26

yellow. please forgive me for not being in a place to invest time and thought into why someone is being horrible. i simply cant.

LadyBeaEGGleEyes · 30/03/2013 20:28

I'm a bit like that too Madame, I come here for the laughs, I don't tend to post my RL problems.
Keep on posting and making us smile, won't you.

McBalls · 30/03/2013 20:28

Absolutely, cest. Absobleedinlutely.

DoeEyedBeauties · 30/03/2013 20:30

Is there a MN naughty-step? Grin
