Site stuff

Can we be allowed to post 'oh do fuck off' in certain circumstances. Like when people post 'is that really all you have to worry about?'

Could we not have one each. Like a waiver.

Please.

You could start off OD and end it your own way Sparkling.

ODGA - oh do go away
ODGANDATYHRT - oh do go away now dear and take your HRT
ODFSC -oh do find some compassion
ODA - oh do admit! Wink

When I was fairly new to MN (a million usernames ago now) I posted "Oh do fuck off" to a poster who was being a right mouthy horrible caaawwwwww! Then I fled the thread and was to "scared" to go back and face any music or see if I was deleted.

I've grown some since then :)

Loving ODFO - could put that to good use.

(Still disappointed HRWT (haven't read whole thread) never caught on)

'Lo everyone,

We're going to move this to site stuff in a mo, in the spirit of tidiness.

While we're "here", we should say that posting "ODFOD" on a thread is tantamount to telling someone to fuck off, and would be deletable.

We're tempted to hijack this thread into a fascinating discussion on semiotics and textual intention....but we won't Smile

Oh do go ahead on Kate S, textual intention sounds fascinating. Do they give you quizzes before you are allowed the big red button?

YouBrokeMySmoulder · 11/02/2013 16:48

But what about my shiny shit HQ? Is that to be disallowed as well?

Report
KatieMiddleton · 11/02/2013 16:52

I may just post random letters on a thread without explanation.

Can't be deleted for being illiterate surely?

Thing is, KateSMumsnet, that sometimes there really is absolutely nothing else to be said other than "Oh do fuck off!". You know, when a poster is being an utter arse. What are we supposed to say to those numpties?

Tumbleweed is usually incredibly vexing it you're an utter arse.

Interestingly, a huge wall of silence often provokes them to move on from utter arsiness into bannable offences.

Pag asked. She's the voice of reason on MN. Sometimes. I mean, she's a bit mardy at the moment but otherwise she's alright.

When I tried to type ODFOD, my iPad tried to autocorrect it to Oxford. Maybe we could use that as a non-deletable code....
