Can we be allowed to post 'oh do fuck off' in certain circumstances. Like when people post 'is that really all you have to worry about?'

Could we not have one each. Like a waiver.

Please.

'Lo everyone,

We're going to move this to site stuff in a mo, in the spirit of tidiness.

While we're "here", we should say that posting "ODFOD" on a thread is tantamount to telling someone to fuck off, and would be deletable.

We're tempted to hijack this thread into a fascinating discussion on semiotics and textual intention....but we won't Smile

@FlouncingMintyy

Thing is, KateSMumsnet, that sometimes there really is absolutely nothing else to be said other than "Oh do fuck off!". You know, when a poster is being an utter arse. What are we supposed to say to those numpties?

Tumbleweed is usually incredibly vexing it you're an utter arse.

Interestingly, a huge wall of silence often provokes them to move on from utter arsiness into bannable offences.

@Maryz

That's a good idea.

I will post "Some folks are very odd-fodd" when I mean OhDoFuckOffDearie

We can read this thread, you know.

In the wise words of Axel Rose, "nothing last for ever, even No-November rain"

MN is a constantly evolving ever changing beast, but that makes it exciting don't you think?

Fwiw, if people complain about bad language in general we send a "yes we allow swearing on Mumsnet" type mail.

We know perhaps some of you could deal with being called a cunt, or being told to fuck off. But at the risk of sounding like a total wuss, it just isn't nice.

Imagine you were having a conversation about an issue that was causing you a lot of upset. Then someone strides over and says "I heard what you said, and I think you're being a cunt".

We are playing devils avocado here, as obviously Mumsnet is as open forum, but we like to maintain a facade of decorum.
