I won't be posting on mumsnet until this is sorted out and our lovely online home is our own again. Somewhere reasonably safe, with campaigns to be proud of like "We Believe You".

MN needs to be somewhere that women especially can feel welcome and free from the sort of harassment that invaders have subjected the site to lately.

I invite anybody else who feels the same way to a temporary withdrawal from posting.

Let's cut off the oxygen to twits, and come back when they've got bored.

Good luck to HQ with getting rid of them and making this the best site for women on the web again.

I love mumsnet.
Yes I really do.
They let all posts happen,
Yet they remain true.....

To speech that is free,
Even for the haters.
One rule for all,
Despite the beraters.

So, mumsnet you are brill,
Though I don't like some of the posts.
You are the best,
You beat the rest,
And you don't even boast.Grin

I don't care to be bullied either, so I am staying put.
However, I do share many of LeBOF's sentiments about what has happened in the last week. I am greatly saddened by the hounding of one MNetter to the point where she left to protect her own safety, and the attempt to bully other individual posters both here and in the MN FB page.

LeBOF · 20/03/2012 14:09

I don't feel bullied: I've avoided their threads and i dont do nutty facebook groups (or even the MN one). I just feel pissed off and that it's not much fun having them pop up like whack a moles all over the place.

Maybe I'll just hide vast swathes of the boards then, and take a bit of a break.

The Apprentice returns tonight though, so, um, maybe I was a bit hasty to swish my cloak so dramatically...Blush

IS IT TONIGHT?

LeBOF · 20/03/2012 14:21

Oops, tomorrow.

Gah, I could have gone for 48 hours. That would have been quite impressive for me.

haha!

I am stupidly excited about The Apprentice because that means it's Spring!

OracleInaCoracle · 20/03/2012 15:37

I have returned also, last night I spoke to DH. It was awful!

OracleInaCoracle · 20/03/2012 15:41

ooops, its l1551e.

I just wanted to echo BoF. I refuse to be intimidated and bullied, but I was getting my knicks in a twist and I was unable to sit on my hands while this was happening. I felt very strongly about it.

soooo, the apprentice...

Pinot · 20/03/2012 15:43

I'm hoping Sue will be back for T'Apprentice freds.

Pinot · 20/03/2012 15:44

Not that that is relevant to this discussion.

Pinot · 20/03/2012 15:49

Calamityboo · 20/03/2012 15:56

I will still be posting, I will not be bullied off a site that has given me so much support, help, advice and belly laughs! I will be careful to make sure when I post that I do not make any sweeping generalisations or remarks that could be taken out of context, I will still offer a supportive shoulder to MNrs who need genuine help (I might be wrong sometimes but I am genuine in my want to help and my advice) because while we are in this there are still MNrs out there who do not know anything about what is happening and need advice and help, and I will report anything I do not like the look of to the lovely elves at MNHQ. I will, though, still naively clink on any link that I am given, and google anything I am reccomended, and when required throw a macaroon or two!! And I will do this in my M&S pants Wink

OracleInaCoracle · 20/03/2012 16:02

oooh, today I went into M&S and bought ds a new dressing gown. and I made sure I told the people behind the desk (inc the manager) why. they said that there was nothing untoward over the weekend though, I suppose that says a lot about support.

LeBOF · 20/03/2012 16:03

(I was going to say that about Sue too- wouldn't miss her for the world Grin)

Pinot · 20/03/2012 16:14

See Oracle I recognised you from that last posting! I'm always a bit behind.

Lovely BoF I emailed Sue today and told her to get her butt back here pronto or else. Twas quite poetic in it's lyrical beauty Hmm

I thought that was brilliant too Vivian.
It's the perfect way to deal with them.

AitchTwoOhOneTwo · 20/03/2012 21:12

KatieMiddleton · 20/03/2012 21:29
