TeamDamon LMAO that is brilliant. Grin

Strawbezza · 21/12/2011 20:51

TeamDamon it reminds me of Catch-22.

Dear Mary,

I yearn for you tragically,

In all of this madness, I'm just so pleased that it's working itself out for SantasBigSack.

That's what matters.

angel1976 · 21/12/2011 20:53

over30s There's a time and place and posting on the OP's thread about her miscarriage demanding answers to questions about money certainly leaves a bad taste in the mouth.

Santa I wish you all the best too and I am sorry you haven't had the best support. I remember posting in a rather difficult time of my life (also, my first wander into MN, how I remember 'fondly'), DS1 just born, had horrible time with him BF-ing and issues with the in-laws and I was shocked at how unsympathetic some MNetters were especially on the BF-ing issue. I never really posted in detail about my 'problems' again expecting full sympathy. With MN, you get the good and the bad and you learn soon enough to deal with it. All the best to you for 2012. :)

MJinSparklyStockings · 21/12/2011 20:56

Amory - I didnt spot you on this thread and I didnt respond to your post with a totally unrelated dig, you seem to have an unhealthy interest in my posts, whereas I have no idea at who you are or where you post, nor would I quote you or refer to you unless it was relevant to the thread I was actually on.

over30sdisco · 21/12/2011 20:57

oh will you please stop with the 'time and place' shite

jj seems totally reasonable to discuss this, her 'supporters' aren't really doing her any favours

and i am certainly not demanding anything from her!

LissTheSeasonLouBeJollie · 21/12/2011 20:58

I have tea.

MJinSparklyStockings · 21/12/2011 20:58

santasbigsack, I'm so glad you are beginning to feel better and getting help, the only way from rock bottom is back up again :)

over30sdisco · 21/12/2011 20:59

i just hope jj realises that this isn't really anything to do with her but just people being wary after being taken in before on the www

AwayinaKayzr · 21/12/2011 21:02

JJ has just posted a nice post on her thread. She has offered to return any money to any posters that gave her it and all so far have refused it back.

I don't see what else she can do about it now.

angel1976 · 21/12/2011 21:10

over30s I am not her supporter in any way. In fact, I posted on the original thread last night about how sums of cash appearing in bank accounts can affect benefits and on subsequent thread (plus this one!), I've advocated a 'no cash' policy as the whole original thread did not sit well with me.

However, I do think relentlessly posting on what is essential a miscarriage support thread started before the whole donation thread started asking to know how much cash she got etc even when you have been told repeatedly to leave is just bad taste.

MJinSparklyStockings · 21/12/2011 21:11

Anyway I [heart] mumsnet so Wine time.

GypsyMoth · 21/12/2011 21:14

Angel.....according to the supporters, any amount if cash is fine..... No worries if on benefits, apparently _Hmm

over30sdisco · 21/12/2011 21:20

i know what you mean angel but the thread was posted in chat and the original op is posting and responding in it....

scottishmummy · 21/12/2011 21:22

all in all it's a bizzare situation
and fact she financially profited doesn't help

angel1976 · 21/12/2011 21:23

But the point is we have said our piece, sounded all the warnings, what more could you do? If people wanted to still throw cash at a stranger, so be it. That situation has well and truly left the harbour iykwim. Which is why I am not seeking the OP out for an explanation. Whether she is taking the money for essentials or not, we will never know. I firmly believe though that a 'no cash offers' policy on this site would be good. What's done is done, need to focus on the future! Grin

angel1976 · 21/12/2011 21:24

Also, she has now posted a lovely post on her miscarriage thread and I honestly think if she had posted a similar post last night, this whole rather wretched affair wouldn't have gone on and on. But we live and learn and hopefully so will she!

scottishmummy · 21/12/2011 21:28

don't need mnhq policy to advise not be soft touch
people expect way too much of mnhq, policy for every eventuality and to meet their nuances

over30sdisco · 21/12/2011 21:28

angel realise that if you post a thread on the 'chat' topic it will appear on active convos to people who like to view that topic'

there are topics for miscarriage etc

usualsuspect · 21/12/2011 21:29

Over30s - you are not seriously having a go at her for posting in the wrong topic are you? Get a grip.
