My first ever deletion - dont think I posted anything contentious.

LEttletownofBOFlehem · 21/12/2011 18:34

I'm racking my brains to remember what I've said that needed to be deleted Confused.

TeamDamon · 21/12/2011 18:35

wannabestressfree - marking place to see outcome: the outcome will be -

Thread deleted by Mumsnet because don't you dare start thinking you can discuss things that concern you without us censoring you.

VajazzleMyFoof · 21/12/2011 18:36

I would like to echo what thesecondcoming said. I have had to go to the social for help and yes you do have to be in 'crisis' but that's the point. Secondly if they are unable to help and need time to process ss are able to come out and provide food/ money for gas, electric etc but once again you have to be in real need..........
Lastly as next tuesday is a bank holiday all tax credits, child benefit etc is being paid early, this friday.

TeamDamon · 21/12/2011 18:38

I was deleted for the first time on an earlier thread about this that went poof! - apparently implying that a poster who I didn't mention by name might have started a thread in order to get donations constitutes a 'personal attack'.

Confused

I never got an explanation as to why this was so.

AliBellandthe40jingles · 21/12/2011 18:40

Oh what, why have I been deleted?

I know we are not supposed to discuss the previous thread, but as I said on the original thread last night - people need to know how these things play out. Once you have seen a few then you see within a few posts of a new thread what will happen, but that only works for those that are there.

FrothingBeserker · 21/12/2011 18:41

TSC - isn't the post of yours that got deleted the one discussing your dp's marathon/sponsorship? Confused

I thought maybe you had asked for deletion for revealing too much or something.

thoroughly confused.

PeaceofCakeAndGoodWineToAllMN · 21/12/2011 18:42

MN is full of very well intentioned people who want to help and I can see how this can be exploited. I can also see how a poster can begin to see MN as a life line, especially if their life has been terrible and they may turn to the site for things that any other person may try to sort out themselves. I don't think it's wise for posters to transfer money over to others, I think it's better that they share information and other support so that the person in need can sort out the problem themselves and get back on their feet. Otherwise, they will just keep on leaning on the site and using it as a cruch, appearing 'needy'.

What's happened?? Confused

I only went to eat dinner

GypsyMoth · 21/12/2011 18:47

Also. We need to be aware when giving a poster cash. Many people claim benefits, so we would be contributing to benefit fraud. We could potentially get a claimant into trouble as bank statements can be requested

GypsyMoth · 21/12/2011 18:47

How did queen prove it? I think I missed that bit!

Lougle · 21/12/2011 18:49

This is a bit like a game of chicken, isn't it, MNHQ? Hmm

immortalbeloved · 21/12/2011 18:49

Why was my post deleted? I was talking about the situation with the baby on facebook! The only mention I made of the op of yesterdays thread was that she could learn something from the mum of that baby, it wasn't an attack!

ChristmasFuckers · 21/12/2011 18:49

little she just showed us a bit from the other thread when op said she has everything sorted for xmas, food ,presents etc and few days? later she asked for help

OP posts:
TeamDamon · 21/12/2011 18:51

Yes, but immortalbeloved are you using your definition of what might constitute a personal attack or MNHQ's secret definition - what is it? Nobody knows and you're not allowed to ask!

QueenofJacksDreams · 21/12/2011 18:52

I posted this quote from the OP's other thread on Chat.
""I have loads a fair bit to wrap, I've not started. We've not been too well off for a few years now so this year in august I had a massive clear out, of everything, kids clothes, shoes and toys and also mine and dps clothes junk etc. And raised christmas funds. So I've slowly shopped and found the best deals and bargains, dd begged for a new dolls pram and cot, I found a brand new tandem mamas and papas one for £8 on a facebook selling page, and a baby annabell cot for £10. Also ds beyblades were bogof so £8 for two, and the stadium I got reduced from £10 to £2. And £land has been so good for stockings, craft stuff, books, socks, sweets etc.""

And I'm amazed I haven't been deleted yet Hmm especially with other posters messages that are completely innocent being deleted.

GypsyMoth · 21/12/2011 18:52

Thanks!

GypsyMoth · 21/12/2011 18:53

And the great little trading company wooden farm... You forgot that one! That was a donation too..,

immortalbeloved · 21/12/2011 18:54

Ahh good point teamdamon

TeamDamon · 21/12/2011 18:54

I think it would be a bit hard for them to explain how quoting the poster in her own words is a personal attack on the poster! Grin
