Cuppa or Hot Beverage?

HelenMumsnet · 11/02/2011 11:43

Hello. The result of our cup of tea emoticon poll show a clear win for the cuppa fans.

So.... all that remains is to decide what text we all type in to make our cup of tea emoticon appear.

Would you like [cuppa] ?

Or the rather less liquid-specific/more amusing but longer-to-type [hot beverage] ?

Do let us know...

Brew

Good work, Eleison. Am off to Cairo shortly and have decided that you would be a welcome addition to my Throwing Mubarak Out Team. Get your kit packed, we will leave at 21hundredhours.

nenevomito · 11/02/2011 19:48

Brew! Brew is Brew!!!!

MN you have just helped repair what has been a truly bloody awful day.

Eleison · 11/02/2011 20:14

It is very pretty. Brew

asuwere · 11/02/2011 20:33

LOL at AtYourCervix using Brew before HelenMumsnet announced it's arrival... Makes you wonder know who does have all the power on MN! :)

AtYourCervix · 11/02/2011 20:35

i was ready and waiting for the 'off line for a mo please try again in 30 secs' thingy.

but yes. i hold all power, clutched in my sweaty little paw. bow down and quiver in my presence.

NormanTheForeman · 11/02/2011 20:39

maryz - what you have said is probably true. I have campaigned my hardest, but realised that for all the pople who are pleased about the Brew, there are several who are upset about it. I'm a bit Sad about that to be honest. But that's life. I usually end up upsetting more people than I please, so this is probably a good result as far as I'm concerned.

Jux · 11/02/2011 22:36

Brew Hmmmm. It looks like bovril in there, to me. And it's clearly cold.

Only joking. It's very lovely. Well done Daniel [crawl], here's an apple (teacher's pet). Have I gushed enough yet?

SoupDragon · 12/02/2011 08:42

If you're going to try crawling, it's best to get their name right. It's not Daniel.

Thanks Rebecca. I can't find a reload button on my computer though....

RebeccaMumsnet · 14/02/2011 11:03

Close your browser window and re-open, see if that works.

NormanTheForeman · 14/02/2011 11:12

Ah, that seems to have worked!

SlightlyJaded · 14/02/2011 11:31

oh no! I can't believe we went with 'Brew' I can't hear the word brew without picturing Ricky Tomlinson on the Royall Family.

Anything but brew.

Have a Brew and reconsider Please!

nickelbabe · 14/02/2011 11:34

obviously, my opinion is irrelevant (no change there then Sad ), but in my neck of the woods, you mash tea and coffee.
I have only ever heard brew from yorkshire people or people doing fake yorkshire accetns Hmm

i would have preferred [cup] because [cup] can be a mug or a cup (usually with saucer)

and i preferred the cup and saucer but i'll get used to the mug

Arcadie · 14/02/2011 17:03

does [pombear] still work???

Arcadie · 14/02/2011 17:03

Oh. Sad

NormanTheForeman · 14/02/2011 17:09

There's no pom, it's just bear. Should work then.

CuppaTeaJanice · 14/02/2011 17:17

Well I'm flummoxed now aren't I? I'm going to have to change my name to MuggaTeaJanice.

Was looking forward to using [cuppa]TeaJanice!!

Can't we just say [hot] to cover every eventuality? Don't like [ brew ] Angry
