Cuppa or Hot Beverage?

Hello. The result of our cup of tea emoticon poll show a clear win for the cuppa fans.

So.... all that remains is to decide what text we all type in to make our cup of tea emoticon appear.

Would you like [cuppa] ?

Or the rather less liquid-specific/more amusing but longer-to-type [hot beverage] ?

The trouble with [mug] is our emoticon is a rather well-mannered cup and saucer.

And [mug] could perhaps be, er, misinterpreted upon occasion?

Yes, make the key-text customisable. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate, etc could all generate the same emoticon and be available as options on the cusomise page. We ought also to have options so that people can use their favoured brand of tea/coffee. So: Earl Grey, PG Tips, Java. Kenya AA. I hope they will all be Fairtrade brands though.

I can't see any reason for not taking the time and discussion to do this properly.

Helen you know you can bang your gavel as much as you like, but if you have unhappy MN'ers it will just go on and on and on until you relent - so you might as well just do it now :)

Why not have a proper vote about the name like you did for the 'to have or not to have' poll?

Although - I'd still like to know why we need the emoticon in the first place Grin especially as you haven't sorted out my one or Maryz's yet - harumph.

Disclaimer It can take a while to update. Your browser will save a local copy of the emoticons and keep using its version unless it thinks they've changed. You can force it to update either by holding shift while pressing reload, or sometimes by restarting your browser/computer.
