Aimsmum! No they do not!!!!! what do they rhyme with as far as you are concerned then?

Lonelymum · 09/09/2005 22:34

Labour sounds like lay and labrador sounds like slab.

ediemay · 09/09/2005 22:35

no, not wrong, just that it always make us laugh. I think it is a south/north thing.

Lonelymum · 09/09/2005 22:37

How do you say Brasso then ediemay?

This is tricky - if I say "to rhyme with castle" we would probably say that differently too! I use a short flat a and she uses a long "aar" a. Oh no I sound like one of the threads I came onto this one to avoid! MORE GIN!!

Lonelymum · 09/09/2005 22:40

How can it not?

Lonelymum · 09/09/2005 22:41

I know how you say it ediemay. Are you from Yorkshire by any chance?

ediemay · 09/09/2005 22:42

No, from North Wales

Lonelymum · 09/09/2005 22:42

Funny to think of you all with your different accents. When you think of me, think of received pronunciation and you will have me.

How do you pronouce Glasgow Aimsmum? My dh, who is Australian but with a southern English accent like me, insists on calling it Glasgow as in Glasnost.

Lonelymum · 09/09/2005 22:46

Sorry, thinking about it, that is probably how you say it too.

CountessDracula · 09/09/2005 22:47

LAY-BEE-AAH at Castle Dracula

ediemay · 09/09/2005 22:47
