Hello

DH loves me shaved and cleans down there. Initially, it is pleasant/etc and DH is happy but a few days after it is itchy because of stubble/etc.

I or DH uses his Gillette shaving Gel and Sensory 3 razors. Is there anything I could do to stop or even reduce the itching? At times I used med cream to reduce itching. Once the hair is a bit longer and not sharp its better ie back to normal.

I prefer a shave but the downside puts me off. Thanks in advance

I bought my girlfriend a portable laser hair removal machine, was about £150 and over the course of 6 weeks most of her hair has gone, she just has to do maintenance sessions now to keep it neat. It is uncomfortable at first as I tried it too, but once the hair follicles begin to recede the discomfort stops.

You could try hair removal cream too but they are not good for those with sensitive skin and can be really irritating. You also have to be careful as you're not supposed to use it on the labia.

@Beneficialchampion2
Thanks but sounds painful but I will keep it in mind.

Check the reviews, it's not painful, just uncomfortable, no more so than itchy shaving rash and it lasts seconds. Hard to explain what it feels like.

Crestaq · 29/12/2022 15:28

As someone who has had laser hair removal all over (a clinic, so decent machines and not home use strength), it does hurt. It doesn't last either - to th3 extent that they now call it laser hair 'reduction'.

Rieslinger · 29/12/2022 15:49

Keep on top of it works best for me and I do my balls too, Ie shave again before the itching starts.

Thanks but the cost is prohibitive, can't justify it but thanks again

Thanks. The funny thing is DH does not as it itches like mad he says and it makes no difference to me. Trying to keep "on top of it" as its mainly for DH, and the itch, easier to let it grow a bit.

There was a time that it itched so much that I was scratching myself and noted a bloke looking. The itch is really off putting otherwise it does feel cleaner

Are you shaving in the right direction? I mean, in the direction the hair is growing or opposite as that makes a difference.

Helpyou · 29/12/2022 20:04

I'm having a similar issue. I have had it all waxed before but it did hurt although I'm tempted as it does last longer. Hmm. Following for tips!
I keep getting ingrown hairs too and they are painful!

Yes most of the time but hard to get at areas/creases/etc no

@Abigail69
Try Nair crème (the sensitive one). It’s pretty good!

Zanatdy · 29/12/2022 21:23

I was wondering this. Just started a new relationship and decided to bite the bullet and shave it all off! I do like it, it feels good but I’ve noticed the stubbly red parts in the bikini area so no doubt the rest will start itching like mad soon too. I’ve had to put some body lotion on as it felt like it needed it but need something not perfumed. Any ideas? Did think of having it waxed but scared, and also assume you need to grow it for that, which defeats the purpose I guess. I was quite anti it before now I like it! I think my new bf does too! I don’t know if men just expect women to be shaved these days? As standard. That’s why I did it, oh that’s and then grey hairs! I am 46 after all. Lol

Thanks just looked but several so which one please. As hair is thicker, how long do you leave it on and do you get less itch and softer growth, please?

Would it work for DH just as well as his hair is even thicker. Thanks

I've shaved properly becuse men do like it for obvious reasons/oral.
DH, current hubby almost demands I'm shaved when he plays Cuk.
He does however, appreciate the fact since I shaved him and he was so itchy for almost two weeks he understands it better its a massive turn on for him. I'd do it every week if it was not for the itchy part as I feel cleaner and get slightly more enjoyment. But I agree, in my experience the blokes want it more. I'm over 50 now and feel I'm too old but the guys tell me I'm not. You are never too old imo
or more so in my DH opinion when it comes to you know what

Try using conditioner rather than shaving gel/foam that seems to make things less itchy for me.
Nair removal cream is also good if you can stand the smell and a little bit of stinging.
Overall waxing is better, more expensive and obviously you need to let it grow a bit before having it done again

NorthAngel · 30/12/2022 06:50

This one. Leave on for 5 mins. I’ve used it with no issues and better than shaving.

He can’t demand you are shaved, I wouldn’t shave solely for a man, I would shave because I preferred it. An alternative is trimming, not everything has to come completely off.
It’s quite sad that women are trying to live up to mens expectations which are no doubt influenced by porn.

I'm happy it i just that most men are more demanding and he can't force me and I want it as well as the sensation is better and easier to clean etc.

I found the itching, scratching and ingrowing hair unbearable. I now just trim

If you shave, you have to accept itchy regrowth. It's horrible and I hate it. Trying to surreptitiously scratch yourself in public..! 😱

These days, I have a salon wax once a month and try to coincide it with any play dates or events.

I've got a laser and it is good but I don't use it often enough.

Sugaspunsista · 30/12/2022 14:25

I use an epilator. Painful at first but now I think it's fine. No hair regrowth for ages

Not for an intimate wax..?! I'm a masochist but fuck no!
